Excellent for a nice stay close to Bryce

Posted Sep 12, 2016 on Hotels
Very nice stay. Innkeepers are great. Have Mike tell you about his experiences. Nice breakfast We left with a bag full of apples, pears and peaches from their trees. The only downside is it's location-It is 8 miles from anywhere to eat dinner. We drank wine, ate snacks and watched Thursday Night Football. Otherwise it was a great spot close to Bryce Park

Thanks for staying with us. We enjoyed your visit. I know staying with us can take some planning. No place for dinner close but ton's of great places by all the parks and on the road before you get to us. Hope the rest of your trip was great. Rochelle

Convenient stopover for Zion/ Bryce National Parks

Posted Sep 1, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The light on the front porch advertising the property was incredibly bright in our room at night, even with the blinds shut.
Location: Well positioned between Zion and Bryce National Parks and North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
This hotel has a bit of old world charm. The guest rooms were all upstairs, nicely decorated and comfortable with an ensuite. There was an enclosed veranda for guests to share with basic facilities to make a hot drink or microwave a meal. There is a grocery shop and a bakery (closes about 6 pm in summer) about 3 miles down the road for supplies. Restaurants are about 8 miles away. Hotel owners provided a delicious home made breakfast each morning - Genevieve is a wonderful cook. She and her husband ate breakfast with everyone and provided really useful travel tips.

Smith Hotel

5 nights. Excellent breakfasts. Many international guests-interesting to talk with people from Australia, France, Germany as well as us Americans. Very helpful advice and tips from the hosts for the national parks and things to do and places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.

This is definitely a historic place with interesting features. It is "out of the way" and you could easily drive past it. Delicious home-made breakfast.

Great Place!

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Pros: Owners Rochelle and Mike were sweethearts who made us feel very much at home with their company and helpful trip suggestions.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Only about 20 minutes south is the Best Friends Animal Society. A great place to visit! Be sure to reserve a free tour of this amazing animal rescue.
My husband and I stayed at The Historic Smith Hotel both on our way to and returning from our vacation in Park City. The house was brimming with history and our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfy. Ask for room #2 because the bed is soooo comfy (no doubt the others are too). Breakfast was wonderful, just as you would expect from a top-notch BnB plus you have the joy of watching out the picture window and seeing the many hummingbirds enjoying their own breakfast on the patio hummingbird feeders. We're sure to return to this BnB if we are again in this part of Utah.

A great B & B halfway between Bryce & Zion

Posted Aug 20, 2016
What a wonderful little hotel. It has been lovingly restored, and is warm and inviting. The breakfasts were amazing, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the deck in the evening after visiting Bryce. We particularly enjoyed getting acquainted with our hosts, and look forward to returning sometime in the future

Reasonable priced B&B but nothing fancy

Posted Aug 17, 2016 on Hotels
Our FIRST B&B, this was as close to Zion and Bryce Canyon as we could get without spending a fortune. The B was comfortable but nothing fancy or gloriously furnished with expensive antiques. The other B was okay, but the waffle was the only thing homemade.
