Pros: Quaint, restored boarding house with original wood burning stove, wood floors and period decorating.
Cons: Was skeptical when arriving from the South at night. twisting, turning road from Zion
Location: Glendale left a bit to be disired. No problems, just not much in town.
very nice. Owners were very helpful in planning our day in and around Zion and Bryce Canyon, directing us to places that were not included on the park maps.

More "outdated" than "historic"

Posted Oct 17, 2016
"historic" serves as an excuse here for an outdated hotel. The bathroom is small and super old, room is tiny, and windows are thin. I had a road facing room and could hear traffic all night. The place is not cheap for the low standard it offers. They get away with it due to lack of competition in this remote location.

Sorry you were unhappy. You booked our smallest room and we hope to remodel the bath this winter or it will be taken out of our inventory. Wish we could have upgraded you to one of our larger rooms but none we available. Rochelle

Great B&B

Posted Oct 15, 2016
Pros: The food, the room, the location, the ambiance, and the owners!,,
Cons: It exceeded all our expectations.
Cozy B&B, very close to both Bryce and Zion Parks. Rochellle and Mike were amazing hosts. Rochelle is a wonderful cook and very accommodating. We were arriving late so we called ahead and she gave very good instructions on where to park, come in, etc. and said she would see us at breakfast. MIKE gave us very good information on the best way to see the parks, and also other very interesting sites nearby. We would recommend the Historic Hotel to anyone and everyone.

Hosts were great

Posted Oct 4, 2016
Pros: Convenient place to access Zion, Brice and other National Parks in the area.
Cons: As in most quaint buildings, there isn't much counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries.
Rochelle and Mike were great. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Mike is a wealth of knowledge concerning the National Parks and other sites to see that are off the beaten path.

Convenient stopover for Zion/ Bryce National Parks

Posted Sep 1, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The light on the front porch advertising the property was incredibly bright in our room at night, even with the blinds shut.
Location: Well positioned between Zion and Bryce National Parks and North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
This hotel has a bit of old world charm. The guest rooms were all upstairs, nicely decorated and comfortable with an ensuite. There was an enclosed veranda for guests to share with basic facilities to make a hot drink or microwave a meal. There is a grocery shop and a bakery (closes about 6 pm in summer) about 3 miles down the road for supplies. Restaurants are about 8 miles away. Hotel owners provided a delicious home made breakfast each morning - Genevieve is a wonderful cook. She and her husband ate breakfast with everyone and provided really useful travel tips.

5 nights. Excellent breakfasts. Many international guests-interesting to talk with people from Australia, France, Germany as well as us Americans. Very helpful advice and tips from the hosts for the national parks and things to do and places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.
