Authentic Colorado experience, lovely town

Posted May 21, 2017
Pros: Location, overall charm, SUPER friendly staff. If we never saw Room 309, this would be 5 stars across the board. Other rooms also looked great!!
Cons: Completed renovations and area construction will be great to see! Hoping the rates stay competitive!!
Location: On-site brew pub is perfect, lots of great restaurants within walking distance, tram to Glenwood Springs Adventure Park, Iron Mountain Hot Springs.
We are Marriott Rewards members but wanted an authentic Colo experience so decided to try something different. The Hotel Denver is so cute and centrally located, walking distance to lots of restaurants, and a few cool shops. Be warned, lots of construction in the area. An hour drive to Vail and Aspen and close to Hanging Lake, very short walk or drive to hot springs. We loved hanging out at the brew pub, watching playoff basketball and hockey. Great staff, food, and drinks. When I called to reserve a room, I explained that my husband and I were travelling with our 18y/o daughter and needed a comfy room for three. I was told we would love room 309 with 2 queen beds and 2 full baths. The hotel is perfect, Room 309 not so much. Smallest queen bed we've ever seen and sadly uncomfortable. The baths were super outdated and so small. We had lots planned and spent most our time outside or downstairs so on day 2 when I explained my concerns and inquired about a switch, I was told it would be a $60 upgrade to another (also unrenovated) room as double queens were yet to be renovated, we decided not to switch. A second bad night was too much, so we took our chances and finally asked for the switch. Room 203 was PERFECT! Super comfy beds, bigger, nicer baths, French doors separating bedrooms. Very charming. Should have switched sooner. A little bummed that we were charged $20 for one night upgrade, but happy we made the move! We plan to return with the rest of our family!

Nice Hotel and Great Location

Posted Apr 25, 2017
Pros: Fantastic location, great front desk staff, clean and nicely-appointed room. We were able to check in at 1 pm, which was very appreciated. Free bottles of water and apples at the front desk was a nice touch. Cons: Room was a little on the small side, and the bathroom shower/tub caulking needed replacement.

Nice view and location

Posted Apr 11, 2017
The location was perfect came on the train. The view out our window was great. We walked everywhere. However felt like the staff could use some customer service/greeting skills. The caulking around shower and tub needed replaced. The filter in the wall for heat and cool was nasty dirty. The mattress was old and sunk in the center. The room smelled funky. The decor and paint was hip and cute! Not worth the price.

Easy Stay

Posted Apr 9, 2017
The staff at the front desk welcomed us with a suggestion to use the mineral pools at Iron Mountain with a discount from the hotel which was a great idea. Our room was spacious and clean; the staff in the hotel and the adjoining restaurants were upbeat and the food was tasty. All in all an easy, comfortable stay.

Beautiful Historic Hotel

Posted Mar 16, 2017
Pros: Friendly helpful staff.
Location: Several good restaurants within walking distance.
Stayed here for the second time. I really like the location and friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was quite roomy. I liked the Keurig coffee maker, it was so much easier to use than the older drip coffee makers. The room was very clean.
