Traditional English country hotel

Posted Jun 26, 2017
This is a peaceful, well-appointed hotel that prides itself in giving guests a taste of old-fashioned luxury combined with modern amenities. The meals served in the restaurant are delicious. Always a favourite venue for us.

Very hospital hosts, fantastic breakfast

Posted May 2, 2017
We had a lovely stay with our boys on the long weekend. Staff were lovely, room was comfortable and breakfast was plentiful. Boys had fun playing tennis and croquet, petting horses and swimming.

A lovely traditional country house hotel

Posted Mar 29, 2017
Pros: An old school country house hotel with attentive service and a magnificent breakfast.
Cons: The rooms and furniture are looking rather well loved and well lived in, but are part of the character of the place
Location: Business trip with no time to explore
They have got all of the important things right here. Fresh leaf tea and ground coffee in the rooms and canister of home made biscuits. It says it all - close attention to detail and a commitment to making your stay as comfortable as possible.

The way it should be

Posted Mar 10, 2017
Pros: Everything - particularly the nice morning sausages
Cons: They could franchise it out for Travel Lodge to run as mini Corse Lawns....
Location: Wonderful village area, nice and quiet.
Arrived tired and cold on an evening. Greeted warmly by name, asked to sign a visitors book and was ushered to the most gorgeous room. A family at the top of their game. The way it all should be - easy, but too dfifficult for most hotels. Amazing and exceptional are the words that come ti mind.

The hotel staff were outstanding. The restaurant food was equally good... this hotel is what you dream of a fine British hotel to be, and then so much more. We had two rooms and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Delightful old fashioned British charm

Posted Dec 14, 2016
This hotel is an absolute delight - all the charm of a well run family business. Fires blazing, Christmas trees twinkling, about the best breakfast I have had for a long time and a sense of timelessness. We loved it and are already planning to go back!

Needed a hotel in the area and it fit

Posted Dec 10, 2016 on Ebookers
Pros: Quiet staff. efficient, undemonstrative, understated. Really excellent attentive Breakfast room staff.
Cons: Kettle in room was a bit flimsy and basic for otherwise everything such a lovely quality feel to the room with fresh real coffee and cafetiere.
Location: Tewkesbury about 6 miles away, wonderful early English town full of character and atmosphere, the real England.
A quick look on internet for a good quality inexpensive quiet stay. This turned out to be a real gem. Deerhurst Room was huge double fronted (Georgian?) house with hot water 24/7 in the big corner bath, big comfy king size bed, curtains drawn in evening and bed turned down. Staff quiet and efficient, almost unnoticed. Breakfast on white crockery, really tasty, home made Muesli, good menu choice.

Luxurious at a budget price!

Posted Sep 19, 2016 on Hotels
Clearly an exclusive luxury hotel, but at a budget price. The room I had could only be described as huge, and was filled with antiques. A very quiet area, a lovely little terrace and nice touches such as a caffatiere in the room with ground coffee, although I was caught out by the loose tea and strainer . . breakfast was superb, as was the evening meal.
