Room cold, bathroom cold couldn’t heat themPosted Feb 11, 2018
When we arrived the room was cold, felt like the heating in there had only just been put on and it felt very cold. We were with a large party of people who all had rooms booked, when we meet up, the first thing they said is their room was cold. Rooms were still cold the following morning when we got up. Bathroom very cold the day we arrived and the next morning. Had smoked fish for breakfast and had to return it as it was tainted.

Nice hotel but needs improving.Posted Aug 24, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is lovely but a little tired. The plumming definitely needs sorting every toilet had flushing issues and with a big wedding on it wasnt pleasant . The beds are old and too sloppy for comfort. We were put in a bedroom with height restrictions and when you are 6ft 3...its not comfortable. Its clear they have started putting new soft furnishings and paint around the place..but the bar area smells like an old pub...it really does need stripping out. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive and was cold. Shame .

Dated and noisy!Posted Aug 17, 2017
Room was very dated. We discovered that a wedding disco was taking place right outside our window. Alternative room was offered (downgrade in style) which hadn't been cleaned! So we left and stayed in a Premier Inn down the road. Will never go back.

Bad luck perhaps ...Posted Jun 15, 2017 on Hotels
This hotel is gorgeous, my room was great, comfy bed, spacious, great bathroom and the people who work here are so lovely and helpful. Breakfast was nice, in a light and airy room. On the downside, the white bath towel looked like it had been used to mop up a red wine spill but had been artfully folded to hide the stains; the cafetiere did not filter at all, so I had a mouth full of coffee grounds and dinner should have been lovely, but it was massively under-seasoned, and I couldn't eat it (this is a first for me). To be fair, I wasn't charged and they did offer to prepare something else, but I was past it by that point. A group of guests on the terrace were pretty loud and sweary and when their conversation turned to adult orientated anecdotes, I thought then that I definitely wouldn't bring my kids here, which was a shame because the grounds were lovely. It was a series of disappointing things which affected what could have been a lovely stay. Would I stay here again? Probably not.
