Stayed here while golfing at nearby Minchinhampton golf club, just the job, the lodge only has 6 rooms right by the old golf ciurse.

A Gem on the Common
We travelled down for an overnight stay ready for a funeral. The staff were very helpful, the room was beautifully clean and airy. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous. It was lovely to be able to park the car easily and to walk on the common. We were very pleased and have booked to go again.

There was a problem with my reservation booked through Expedia but it wasn't serious enough to jeopardize my stay. I stayed in the Old Lodgings which is a 4 minute walk towards town. It had been newly renovated and spacious.

Great Place to stay.
The room was excellent it had a four poster bed very comfortable. The room was serviced everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel are beautiful.

Good food and surroundings.
Fine breakfast menu (especially porridge) and good proximity to Winstone's ice-cream. The evening menu was as good as the one for breakfast - including fish & chips.

Former hunting lodge with a lovely location in middle of Minchinhampton Common with magnificent views. No dedicated car park so had to share with busy golf club next door.

A lovely old pub with rooms
Nice old pub in a spectacular setting on the common outside Minchampton. Pleasant welcome, clean room if a little small with a small shower room. Dinner was good and well looked after by pleasant staff. Breakfast was disappointing, no cereal or fruit or yoghurts, just a cooked food.

A gem of a place in a beautiful settling. The food was delicious, we ate here each evening it was so good. The staff are all friendly, the hotel is clean and there is plenty of space to park. The hotel is full of character and the surrounding views and scenery are spectacular.

We absolutely loved the old lodge. Great food, beer and a wonderful quirky room with four poster bed. So comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.

Lovely hotel brillant helpful staff. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Room had excellant views across the Golf course. Food was very nice good portions and well cooked. Only issue ww had was kitchen shut during the day maybe due to situation. Overall very good with exceptional welcoming staff would stay here again

So many unique experiences at this quaint country Inn. Starting from when you drive up, I was here in august, so the common was open to grazing by cows, horses and other cattle. The staff were so incredibly welcoming and polite. I definitely recommend this Inn.

Well worth coming back.
My daughters and I had a lovely stay here and thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dinner on arrival and breakfast the following morning. The service was great throughout and we loved the surrounding countryside. Everything was very clean. One little minus was one of our bedrooms was a bit on the small side and the bed not very comfortable but we would definitely stay here again.

Almost the very best!
This is a rather special place. The location is just superb. Totally idilic in the middle of an open common/ golf course with the most amazing villages nearby. The inn and the rooms have character and the food is very good. The popular beer garden is tremendous on a sunny day. The staff are friendly and helpful. I feel a little sad at marking an otherwise excellent place down on cleanliness and service but the windows in our room were filthy and the service tended to be quote slow (admittedly they were busy).

Lovely location for an overnight stay on a summer's evening, on the high ground of Minchinhampton Common so a light breeze was welcome on a warm night. Our family (including labrador) stayed in 2 rooms, both had comfortable beds and pleasant decor. Room 6 - the shower temperature knob was very stiff and difficult to adjust, this needs some attention. Also, I noticed in Room 3 the shower does not have a shelf on which to put your soap / flannel / shampoo - you have to place it on the floor of the cubicle, which is mildly annoying. But these are minor niggles. We had not planned to eat there (there is a very good local chip shop in the village, but on a Friday evening the queue was too long) however we were glad that we did: the food at the Old Lodge arrived promptly and was nicely presented. Good variety on the menu and whilst it is not worthy of a Michelin Star, I would describe this as good tasty pub grub in decent sized portions. Would recommend this as a place to stay for friends and family.
