Lovely 4 star hotel with attentive servicePosted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Hotel clean and had everything you needed - great attentive service, bar, large pool with plenty of sun loungers and a gym. Food is good. Garden nice.
Cons: More parasols by pool to provide more shade would be good (only 2). Gym is limited but there is enough for a workout. Breakfast is same every day.
Location: 5 min walk takes you to main drag where there's loads of bars, restaurants, shops, chemists, beauticians. further 5 mins and you're on beach.
This was ideal for a relax and unwind holiday. Guests were mixed so ideal for all - couples, families, students, young and old. Staff were amazing especially Sandeep in the restaurant - you'll recognise him immediately - just look for the biggest smile! Deepak and Rupak who you'll find at the pool can't do enough for you - they ensure that you're comfortable at the pool and have everything you need. They were especially great with the children ensuring they were safe at all times. Parmjit in the bar was happy to chat and provided great service. They made a great holiday fantastic! Top marks to all the staff who were so friendly.

Dirty Rooms & poor servicePosted Sep 20, 2014 on Hotels
If you have got a standard room be careful, you just might find ants walking all over bed and tea table. When I complained, they offered to spray some mosquito killer and remove them. What a horrible response. I pressed on talking to manager then they showed some courtesy and upgraded to Superior rooms which were better than the previous one in terms of cleanliness. The room service was very poor, you are required to remind them multiple times before they'll take any action. The staff was a mixed one. One of the Guys Haseem was always trying to find a cut in the taxis being booked on Rent and provided wrong information. The other guy Sagar was a pretty decent and helpful guy. Overall a mixed experience but expected a lot more from such a renowned group.

Good Property, service needs improvementPosted Aug 22, 2014 on Hotels
Stayed at the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson from August 14 - 17, 2014 Pros: The propoety is at around10mins walking distance from the Candolim beach. The property itself is well mantained and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The swimming pool is of decent size and more importantly was well mantained. The surrounding area is mainly a residential area and is pretty quite through out the day. The inroom dinning options were adequate and open for 24 hours. The breakfast too had good variety. CONs: The service is not upto the mark. Had 3 different instances: 1) I had asked for info on car / bike rental facility with one of the person on counter, He came forth to book it for me, saying it would be made available in 5 mins. Eventually it took around 50 mins for the vehicle to arrive also the car model promised was different and so were the rates. 2) Had ordered a sandwich and a lasagne at around 11:30 pm, got it almost after 12:45 am after a couple of reminders. Surely they had forgoten to deliver but came with a lame excuse that Lasagne takes time to prepare. Its another story that the Lasagne was not prepared well at all. 3) For my Airport drop I had booked a car with the Hotel. Again the rate confirmed by the Hotel and that asked by the car driver were different. Surely these things can be managed better. Its a complete waste if such a beutiful property is not matched with efficient service.

Excellent neoclassical Hotel. True value for moneyPosted Apr 14, 2014
This property is a well known and appreciated one almost on the southern tip of North Goa, a walking distance from the Candolim beach. The aesthetics of the Hotel are neoclassical and carry a touch of the Portuguese architecture, antique-look but very well-kept Furniture and due care for comfort of the guests. Services are really good. Staff is friendly and very cooperative. Breakfast spread is lavish and delicious. A good number of foreign travellers we met at the Hotelbhad bookings for two weeks or more. The Fort Aguada - Baga Road close to the Hotel offers excellent eateries of all tastes. Most of the restaurants are decorated in the style of Beach Shacks but offer wonderful food with great hospitality and live music performances by evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our seven day stay at the Hotel and look forward to a come-back sometime in the future.
