Quaint oldie worldly pub, with pleasant helpful hosts. The accommodation above was clean, comfortable and well stocked in regards to tea and coffee etc. it is in an excellent location for exploring Whitby. I would definitely stay here again and can recommend that you give it a try.

The hotel was very clean & warm & cosy. Was greeted with a lovely lady that said if we needed anything have us an emergency no. Well stocked up on tea coffee hot chocolate water biscuits & crisps what more could you ask for. We have booked again for next year.

Had a lovely 2 night stay in a decent size room (many stairs and no lift, which I was aware of so no big deal for me, but might deter others). Location amazing, right on Church Street, walkable from train station, and a great cafe right across for breakfast. Had to wait for the pub to open to leave my luggage at arrival, but that was my fault for not confirming that information first. Would definitely stay there again.

Black Horse..
Really nice place to stay, friendly staff with some great cask ales available, room was clean and tidy, same for bathroom. The bell tolls every hour but to be fair that added to the atmosphere of Whitby... Overall I would definitely recommend the Black Horse Inn if you are lucky enough to find availability.
