Diamond Sands Resort

The resort is in need of a complete revamp. Our apartment was in very poor condition. The walls needed a repaint. The carpets were very old with stains and marks and where the carpet was joined it was obvious that this was starting to come apart. The carpets certainly need replacing. The furniture was in fairly good condition. The oven is over 20 years old and if using it you can't here due to the noise it makes. There wasn't even one baking tray in the oven. There was sufficient crockery, cutlery & glasses however there were no containers no trays etc. It was very difficult to even cook a pizza in the oven, there weren't any trays to take meat down to the bbq. The bbq was supposed to be left clean after use however that wasn't the case when we used it and it was difficult to get the BBQ to heat up sufficiently to cook your meat properly. The washing machine in the unit certainly needed at least a very good clean. It was quite grotty. The floors in the unit had not been washed prior to our check in so you had to wear shoes to avoid ending up with dirty feet. The apartment was also quite musty. The air conditioner hasn't been cleaned in a long time and was very dirty. That in itself would be a health issue. Overall we were quite disappointed in the resort and wouldn't stay there again. Overall we would rate this resort as a 2. Certainly nothing higher than that.

Location: World Gym Burleigh is close by and main shopping Centres
I stay in a lot of Hotels and resorts with my work and this Resort was excellent value for money and close everything.

Pros: The design of the pool is very clever. And the many palms around it break up the view of the surrounding hotel buildings very well. Nice holiday feel.
Cons: It was all good.
Location: Plenty of local restaurants and places to pick up everyday things.
Our stay was very enjoyable except for one inconsiderate happening by on owner of the adjoining apartment. They chose to refurbish and paint using an oil based paint. We had the stink of that for the last couple of days.
