It was our 10th anniversary this past August long weekend, returned to Emerald lake to celebrate. And amongst the hottest weekend I can remember in the mointains, the staff worked tirlessly to make sure we were well taken care of. They constantly wore their masks which must have been uncomfortable with the heat. I wish more of the guests would have followed suit. Well done Emerald Lake staff, you helped make our weekend special!

Book a lodge room, thinking we would be in the main building , that was not the case they actually don’t have any rooms in the main building only cabins. We didn’t realize we would have no cell service or wifi or tv in our rooms, it is only available at the main lodge. The room was dated but comfortable, The showers have no pressure and didn’t get very hot, the deck was not clean. The view was awesome, food was good and the hike was great.. I wouldn’t come back to stay there but would go back and hike .

The gem needs some polish.
The Emerald Lake Lodge is one of the gems in the Canadian Rockies. The rooms need an Interior Designer refresh and material choices that can hold up to the rigors of outdoor gear. The main lodge still has its sparkle however an emphasis should be placed on Canadian history and decor. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise; the food was good and the staff are also friendly. This could easily be elevated with training. Yoho National Park needs to do some crowd control and support the masses who want to walk in the wild around the lake. Washrooms, guides and park officers would go along way to supporting Canadian history and the lodges place in history.
