quick overnight stay

Pros: hotel and room was clean
Cons: wifi
front desk staff friendly, room clean, but basic. breakfast ok, wifi connection poor and slow

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your comments. With 70+ rooms and multiple guests, hotel capacity can still affect broadband speed. Unfortunately, Golden does not yet have fiber optic cables like most major centres, because we are a fairly rural mountain town. We have increased our speed as much as possible, so we hope this did not impact your stay too negatively. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us, we hope to see you again soon.

Daughter had so much fun swimming in the pool and enjoyed the green space outside as well!

Perfect for our family

We stayed here while exploring Yoho National Park and Golden. We found it great value for money. The kids loved the pool and the outdoor play area. The fridge, microwave and BBQ meant we could make our own food instead of having to go to a restaurant. Breakfast was good but extremely busy.

Overpriced, old and tired motel

Pros: Not much
Cons: Everything. It is old, dingy and not at all attractive.
Terrible value for the money. This place is WAY overpriced. It badly needs a facelift from top to bottom.

Adequate, nothing special. Pictures over sell the place. Location however is great.

Had an enjoyable stay. Place was quiet, not a lot to do in the town but it made for an easy stop on my way to Vancouver.

Customer service??

Website was not updated. Pool was closed. Staff were grumpy, unfriendly and NOT helpful.

Easy access off highway, limited breakfast.

Pros: It was easy to get to and set back from highway, so you don't hear the noise at night. Grass picnic area across parking lot with small playground.
Cons: Better communication on website about renovations. More diverse breakfast menu.
Disappointed. We had a 6 hour drive and booked this hotel because it had a pool with slide for the kids. However, the pool was closed for renovations when we arrived. We were not told this when we booked, nor was it on the website and we were unable to move our booking to another hotel in the area. The room was clean and a good size. Our stay included a continental breakfast. Very limited. As my husband put it, "No Protein". No meat of any kind, no muffins, or bagels. You had a choice of 2 cereals, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, coffee, or waffles. The waffles were good and fresh, as you made them yourself. Luckily, we were only staying 1 night.

Won't be back.

Apparently my last review was no good and rejected. Blood on the steps to the water slide in the pool area. Scaly rust around the perimeter of the pool. Coffee machine didn't work and ants all over the bathroom. For me on a bike trip that's fine, with wife and kids, not so much.

We apologize that you were unsatisfied with your stay Jeremy. I recall your date of stay quite clearly. In addressing the issue of pool cleanliness, because of the importance of the cleaning that needed to be done, our staff was dispatched and cleaned the area within 10 mins of being notified. However; I very specifically recall that I was the one who notified out Manager On Shift that there was an issue. If our guests notice something that needs to be addressed immediately, we cannot address it if they do not tell us there is a problem. This is the same with your coffee maker, or if you happen to notice bugs sharing your room. We would have been more then happy to assign you another room in a different wing, should these issues have been brought to our attention. Our pool is in the process of being renovated, and we hope that our upgrades will be to your satisfaction should you decide to return. Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to leave comments so we may improve guest satisfaction.

Meh....

It was what it was.... wasn't worth what I paid. The girl at front desk was pretty decent though. It was just way too hot throughout the night and the bed was so hard as we're the pillows.
