Amazing location right on the beach front

Posted Sep 3, 2016
Pros: As mentioned above
Cons: The bathroom was small but well appointed just need to replace the annoying shower curtain with a glass screen.
Location: Perfect location - beach front, walking distance to the town, close to ferries and buses and also the train station.
The hotel is located right on the beach front and has amazing views from the terrace and beach front cafe. The gardens are immaculately maintained there are little areas for playing cards, table tennis and many water activities with small children catered for as well. We loved the outdoor terrace for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks at night. We chose to have half-board and enjoyed the beautifully served meals in the restaurant at night. The hotel is a short walk to the town centre, buses and ferries are close by for trips to Portofino nd other local towns.

Centrally located and near train station

Posted Jul 16, 2016
Pros: - comfortable clean room - private beach and pool - yummy breakfast - good gym facilities - great location if you have kids
Cons: - helpfulness and friendliness of some of the reception desk - complimentary drinking water
Location: Very close to city centre, train station (helpful if wanting to visit Cinque Terre by train) and ferry/ boat access. Easy access to water activities.
- comfortable clean room - private beach and pool - yummy breakfast - some hotel staff very friendly and helpful; others disappointing (unhelpful and gave wrong information) - given accommodation away from main accommodation building - villa porticello is located within premises but separate to main hotel building and faces a public beach which is prone to noise ++ - small bathroom - good gym facilities however no drinking water access - great location if you have kids.....plenty of beach and pool activities for them

60s flash back. A bit outdated decor but very cute for the Italian riviera.

Perfect Spot,

Posted May 31, 2016
Pros: The service, the gardens with its own beach, Close to the railway and the ferry,
Cons: my one bug is the word 'Chips' on the English translation part of the menu, should read 'crisped potatoes' Though the do do chips, if you want them.
Location: Location is as good as you want it, shops and town centre, rail, buses, all within a few minutes walk, the sea on the doorstep.
The staff and position of this hotel make this a great place to stay, Close to the railway without ever being aware it is there, in fact walking is probably quicker than waiting for a taxi, and cheaper :-) Just a few minuted from Santa Margheritas centre with its multitude of places to eat, should you chose to dine out, or grab a pizza or Ice cream, the Ferry and Bus routes, though the Ferry probably a more pleasant ride. The h Hotel gardens and private sea front worth a day just slumming and sunning at least, In fact it would be a wast of the facilities if you did not stop in-house for a day. The offer of fresh towels in the evening, as well as fact that they change any towel that looks to have been disturbed, plus if you use a lounger, in season there is a fee but not out of season, you are supplied with a large towel to lie on and use if you take a dip, plus a private changing room with shower close at hand, though it will cost a Euro if you want a hot water shower. All in all a perfect beach holiday hotel,

Great hotel

We chose to stay in Santa Margherita Ligure because it was more reasonable than Portofino which really isn't as charming as expected. Recommend skipping Portofino and spending more time in Santa Margherita Ligure. This hotel was an incredible bargain tho probably not so much in summer.
