We liked the hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the view is nice of the bay. My only compliant is when I went to order a tea at the bar to take up to our room - they insisted to bring it up as room service and charge me a lot for room service, which was ridiculous. Most hotels would let you purchase a coffee or drink and bring it up to your room. It is a great place to start your walk to Portofino and it has lots of restaurants within walking distance.

The staff was great. The facility was weird up and down within a room BUT they are closing on Oct 1 for a roltql renovation so when it reopens it should be FANTASTIC

This hotel is in the best location to go to the fiat free back street where you walk among the restaurants and shops and watch the children play. It’s also is right across the street from the boardwalk park and definitely right across from the beach, rocky beach but people like it. The Lido Palace has an excellent staff who help with everything. The breakfast is good with more great staff. Check in and out was easy. We loved our stay in this beautiful town. You can’t go wrong staying here. We had the Jr. Suite and it was large with a great view.

HUGE breakfast buffet included! Staff went above and beyond to help even without being asked. Very clean, a/c worked great in the room, comfy bed, etc etc. Fridge in room with beverages. Excellent location. Definitely recommend!!!

American hotel from the 60s
The only good thing here is location. The hotel room size is big but inconvenient and lacks essential furniture and accessories. Beach access is not granted with the hotel. You may use public beaches or pay for private venues. The breakfast was dry and lacked options. No value for money.

Great!!
We had a wonderful stay! It is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in some time. Not only is the city beautiful, but the hotel was incredibly comfortable, with an unbeatable location, very kind and friendly staff, and large, spacious and clean rooms. We were always supplied with fresh towels to take to the beach, and even surprise fresh towels in our room mid afternoon when we had been out all day. The breakfast was also spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel, and I hope to be able to come back and stay in the near future!

The BEST part about this property was its location!! Every room has a window/balcony that overlooks Santa Margherita's beautiful city and beach. It was so charming. The hotel itself is very clean. However the one thing negative was the Air Conditioning. It was basically non existent!! And in August it was very much needed. I had 3 rooms with my family and not one of the rooms was cold. So we all did not sleep very well at all. Don't think I'd come back in August.

Fantastic location, needs upgrade.
The hotel looks fantastic from afar. It is in a perfect location in a beautiful town. The staff were very helpful and professional. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so they took our luggage into storage while we walked to Portofino. When we returned our luggage had been placed in our room for us. Great service. However, the whole hotel desperately needs an upgrade and refurbishment. Our room had a beautiful sea view and was very spacious, but was just so old fashioned. It even smelled musty. I'm not saying it wasn't clean, because it was, but just a little disappointed.

Great location. Spacious rooms/suites. Great view. Check in was easy. Breakfast was included, which was a plus. The only negative is that they would not allow you to take a cup of coffee to your room, which would have been nice given the balcony and great view. Just one of those small guilty pleasures!

Great family hotel!
Beautiful hotel with amazing views of bay. This is a great place to stay with a family! The hotel is close to many restaurants, gelateria and shops. The beach is right there... just cross the street!! The staff is incredible, so warm and helpful! We saw them interact with some demanding people in the most patient and caring way! The hotel is great, but the staff make it amazing!! Breakfast is tasty too! The only downside is that the WiFi is very slow (not important for me, but was an issue for my husband who was trying to do work). We hope to come back!

Only dissappointment was we could not park in their parking garage (they advertise they have one but apparently you need to call ahead to reserve. Another suggestion, given that they dont have a private beach is that they negotiate a rate or even if they cant do this that they secure some good spots at the local beach clubs (otherwise you pay 35 euros per day per pair of chairs and are stuck three or four rows back). Hotel does give you daily beach towels and is very conveniently located.

Location was wonderful. Right across from the beach and close to shopping and restaurants.However air conditioning was not working properly. We contacted front desk and they sent someone to our room and they said nothing was wrong that we needed to live with the cozy temperature! Really!!!! Also, we had big problems with our phones the next day after using the hotel wi-fi. Crazy inappropriate texts came thru and one of our phones got frozen on some crazy update. Probably would not stay there again.

Beware of mold/mildew
The suite was musty and damp. Also, it smelled moldy. Clothes that were hanging up were slightly damp when we left. Air conditioning was only partially effective. Reported the above upon getting to the room and was told maintenance would come to check. No improvements made, nor were we advised of any visit. Decor is dated. My wife commented that it was like staying in her grandmother’s basement. My wife’s nose was running during our stay there. Wasn’t running prior. Cleared up in Milan within 24 hours of leaving. I suspect this was a reaction to the mold of mildew. Pretty good breakfast buffet. Outstanding location.
