"My husband & I and two other couples stayed at Penelope Home for 5 nights. The home is located about halfway between the 2 airports on Crete. (About an hour each direction) We liked the central location and enjoyed hikes, caves, the beach and other activities. The suggestions for restaurants and bakeries by our host were spot on. "What a fantastic place to stay. Superb communication with host (Elias) prior to and during stay. There was a food hamper on arrival with wine which was great as we arrived very late in the evening. Villa very spacious with beautiful outdoor courtyard area and spotlessly clean. Lots of character and just a short walk from the village of Margarites which has some lovely ceramic shops and places to eat. Monestary in the village is worth a visit too and we fell in love with the Pomegranate trees....

"The apartment itself is basic but lovely. It was clean and had everything we needed. The pool is small but perfect for cooling down. There are 2 or 3 restaurants and 2 shops within walking distance, which serve delicious and local dishes. "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Gaia. The villa was clean and spacious with fantastic outside space. It was in a quiet, rural location however was still convenient for local restaurants, supermarkets and the beach and there were many things to do within an hour’s drive (including the airport). Zacharias was a generous and kind host. He insisted on meeting us at the villa despite us not arriving until after midnight. I would highly recommend a stay here."
