Good business hotel

Posted Feb 11, 2017
Pros: Very quiet, decent breakfast included in rate (including Swedish-style squeeze-it-yourself fresh orange juice). The kitchenette is nice.
Cons: The hotel can be difficult to find. I have stayed here before, so I know the entrance is adjacent to the supermarket on the main floor.
Location: Mostly businesses nearby.
The hotel is located on the streetcar line that travels to the centre of the town and also connects to the airport shuttle bus stop. The room includes a kitchenette with dining table in the room, and there is a supermarket on the main floor of the building. There are several restaurants within walking distance (including an American-style sports lounge), or you can have the "dagenslunch" (daily lunch) in the hotel restaurant which is well-priced and a similar experience to having lunch at an IKEA restaurant. Overall, a pleasant stay for a business trip.

Ideal

Posted Nov 9, 2016
Pros: Size of the room, security, cleanliness, location, price.
Cons: No complaints!
Location: Good location for getting in to town by tram or walk.
A lovely hotel, although location is a bit odd as it's within a commercial building, and there is little signage outside. Seems a well kept secret! I travelled by myself to see family for a few days and the hotel, importantly for me anyway, felt nice and secure. Once through the reception area, there is a key operated door to the lift area and then another key operated door to the room corridors. The bedroom was good and large with a lovely little kitchenette which would be very handy if staying for more than a few days. The room was beautifully clean, the bed comfy, the bathroom a good size, clean and modern, with a small range of toiletries. Free Wifi was a bonus and worked well. I didn't try the restaurant, but room service with continental breakfast was good, and set me up well for the day. My room was on the fifth floor and overlooked the car park and office block, not that that matters really as I was out all day, but perhaps might be a problem if you like to chill out more in your hotel room and don't want to be overlooked by office workers slaving away while you've got your feet up! My only gripe would be the metal overhangs outside, above the windows, which would drip, drip, drip on to the window sill below when it rained. Not noticeable during the day, but did wake me up during the night when everything was quiet! Am looking forward to booking again next year.

Huge rooms in a commercial district

Posted Sep 23, 2016 on Hotels
Hidden gem in a commercial building in a commercial area. Huge rooms - largest I've seen in Europe. We used it as an overnight as we had an early flight to catch. Would probably prefer to stay here than in the middle of Gothenburg if we are in the area again!! However, the parking and reception is confusing and rooms are not easy to find since the hotel shares space with offices in a commercial building.

Great for a trip to Liseberg (or the city center)

Posted Aug 10, 2016 on Hotels
Booked a room for myself to stay for 2 nights to visit the Liseberg theme park with friends. Transport to and from the park (which is very close to the main city) was easy - either a 15 minute walk or 3 minutes tram ride. Bed was very comfortable, kitchenette had basically everything (fridge, cutlery, pots & pans, e.t.c) which let you cook your own food that you could buy from the supermarket right next to the hotel, and the bathroom was well equipped (although it is shower-only). There's also a locked storage room system to keep your bags safe if your room isn't ready, which helped us since we arrived 2 hours before check-in but wanted to visit the park. The only thing I didn't think was too great was breakfast. The food quality wasn't the best, and they didn't have any kind of pastry selection. I wasn't that hungry either morning though, so it's probably not a big deal for most people. So overall, a very pleasant experience.

Europe does it better

Posted Jun 10, 2016 on Hotels
This European Best Western was so much better than US version. Friendly staff, modern facility, and buffet style breakfast where you can make your own fresh orange juice. Plus there is a supermarket next to hotel. Location away from Downtown which is only downside but I would stay here again and recommend to others.
