Lovely hotel in the city centre

Posted Nov 29, 2016
Pros: Everything except the single bedroom!
Cons: Yes, the single bedrooms!
Location: City centre. Good for walking, restaurants and theatres
Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were charming and helpful without being overwhelming. It was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and very good for breakfast. My only criticism was my single room with it's small single bed albeit very comfortable. My experience of hotel single rooms is that they are always much less than half the size of double rooms and yet the single guest usually pays more than couples pay per head for theirs.

Lovely hotel in city center.

Posted Sep 17, 2016
Pros: There was plenty of room at breakfast to get a table even when it got busy at the weekend. Bedroom clean and quiet.
Cons: Move mirror to plug for hairdryer use - I had to use my small makeup mirror as the cord was not long enough to see in the room mirror.
Location: Easy city to get around by foot or tram. Many restaurants to choose from, through the food is more expensive that the UK prices it was all delicious.
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great, especially the scrambled eggs. The best bit is the homemade Cake that is put out every afternoon - it was just right with a tea or coffee after a day of sightseeing.

Very welcoming family run hotel

Posted Sep 15, 2016
Pros: Nearly everything! including a pin board where you could post suggestions for good eating places or sights
Cons: More storage space for clothes in the room we had.
Location: Within reasonable walking distance of main railway station. Tourist office nearby. Trams from main square very useful and fun. Easy to get around.
Made to feel at home, staff very friendly and happy to answer any queries, good buffet breakfast, comfy beds, clean room, tea, coffee and cakes available every day on help yourself basis.

Great location and friendly staff.

Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Location: Boat trips around the canals of Gothenburg are about a ten minute walk.
The hotel is located in a great place near Gothenburg's main bus station. Tram stops are also close by so it is very easy to travel to various parts of Gothenburg. The staff were really friendly and were happy to help with suggestions and questions. Breakfast was included in the price and was a great way to start everyday. Due to how good it's location is and the price of similar hotels, it is a hotel I would definitely recommend.

Very nice hotel in Downtown Gothenburg.

Posted Aug 27, 2016
Pros: Location, staff, amenities.
Cons: More hot plates in breakfast.
Conveniently located within walking distance to all amenitiies in Gothenburg. Staff offers friendly services always with a smile. Older building but very well kept and very clean. Breakfast is a good touch but more hot dishes (hot cereal) would have made it even better. Rooms have windows which open. If you like to sleep with them open you should ask for rooms facing the inner court as traffic on the streets outside the hotel is quite noisy. Parking is controlled by city across from the hotel. Hotel offers pass at a reduced price. Ensure that you are displaying all your parking passes on the dash of your car at all times (as per front desk's advice) or you will get a ticket. The parking control officers are diligent. Hotel offers self serve coffee/tea/water and baked goods in the afternoon. Its also a great touch. Hundreds of cafe and restaurants are within walking distance. Overall a very pleasant stay. Keep up the good work Hotel Royal.

Nice hotel in central göteborg!

We had a pleasant stay at hotel Royal. Breakfast was delicious and the room was one of a kind. They allowed us to store the key whenever we left to go explore, then easily pick it back up after! staff was knowledgable about the city and provided us excellent resources for food, art, and entertainment!

Nice old hotel in the center of Gothenburg.

Close to the canals, shopping, sites. This is the oldest hotel in the city and maintained to high standards. They offer delicious coffee and cake upon arrival. Large, clean rooms.

Early summer visit.

Cute hotel in central location in Gothenburg. Clean historical building. Good value for price. Coffee available during day. Breakfast buffet could be better, not quite up to par.
