turn of century meets 21st century!

Lovely turn of the century classic completely updated to 21st century standards. Located in Garcia neighborhood so easy walking to sites. Staff was very very attentive and the roof top bar a perfect ending to each day watching the sunset over the city. We'll be back.

Very beautiful hotel & attentive staff

Pros: Staff was courteous and attentive. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Central location cannot be beat!
Cons: Bathroom tub was uncomfortably high. Bad design in tub/shower made it difficult to operate and shower.
Location: Absolutely the most convenient location. Great restaurants just a few minutes away such as Da Greco and La Pepita. So many good fashion shops!
I stayed here with my 9 year old son for a week. They were incredibly attentive and gracious. Due to other reviews (and because I am a light sleeper) I specifically requested a quiet room not facing the street. I stayed on the first floor, and although this meant my balcony had no view (a wall) it was so incredibly quiet and peaceful at night, I was able to sleep just fine. The hotel itself is a work of art, from the furniture in the common areas to the closet handles in our room. We had everything we could need in the bathrooms/room and if we wanted something, all we had to do was ring the front desk. The food at the Galaxo was incredible, as well as the attention and service. They even accommodated my picky eater. Service on the terrace was hit or miss, sometimes they were good, others not so much. It was odd, like the staff on the terrace was completely different than the rest of the hotel (their attitude, attention, etc. was off). Beautiful views though! My feedback in other areas are: the bathtub was so high, it was difficult to get in. I struggled, and my poor son fell and hit his head trying to get out of such a high tub. The shower head was ill-placed and too low, even for a 5'1 person like me. Breakfast was really overpriced - like, way over priced. I expected to pay a lot for breakfast in this hotel, but it was exorbitant. It is a shame since it was convenient to eat breakfast there, but after two days we stopped and found breakfast elsewhere.

Pros: Excellent service. Nice rooms. Upscal atmosphere.
Cons: Lighting in the guest room was dark
Location: We wanted to be away from the tumult on Las Ramblas this time and preferred the Passeig de Gracia area. Quieter yet still convenient to attractions.
Welcomed by an extremely competent and helpful staff. They couldn't do enough to make your stay a memorable experience.

Wonderful hotel with great staff

Pros: Location, Rooms, Staff
Location: Gaudi's Casa Batlló is a five minute walk away. Designer shopping, good restaurants, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and a metro station all nearby
This is a fabulous hotel. It is extremely comfortable and the service is great. We stayed here for our family vacation for ten nights in August 2017. It is a perfect location. The rooms are lovely. We had a spectacular view of the Sagrada Familia from our balcony. We walked or metro-ed everywhere during our stay. The staff are extremely professional and nice. The roof top bar and plunge pool is a lovely place to relax after a day of sight seeing.

Royal Treatment

Pros: Ambiance, Decor, Service, Quality of towels and bedsheets, Comfort, Royal treatment afforded each guest, Professionalism and warmth of the staff
Cons: Nothing except softer mattresses
Location: Fanciest shops in the city; close to La Pedrera Taxis available in front of hotel to reach major tourist attractions
Outstanding hotel that looks like a mini-palace. Exceptional staff that provides personal service to each guest. So many free amenities offered in each room. Most beautiful lobby parlor in all of Europe. A national landmark.

Expensive, but worth every penny. The staff was delightful and very helpful. Don't miss the rooftop terrace! Sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the expansive view of the city.
