Excellent hotel close to bus stop

Posted Feb 5, 2017
Pros: Hotel Concorde is conveniently situated for the Promenade and Catarina beach. The staff are very helpful and most understand English.
Location: There are many excellent museums in the City of Las Palmas and Houses dedicated to famous people like the explorer Christopher Colombus (Casa Colon).
Getting around Las Palmas is confusing by bus. There are two bus services - one painted yellow and operating from the Guagua (pronounced wowa) Bus Stations around the city - the other is the Global Buses painted turquoise-blue and travelling from the San Telmo Bus Station to destinations all over the Island including the Airport. For the latter you must pay on the bus but for the Guagua buses you can buy a card which allows you 10 single journeys for 10€ and can be topped up with another ten journeys for 8.50€ at any Guagua bus station. It is used like an Oyster card in London. The Guagua Nos 1 & 2 travel north up the whole of Calle Tomas Miller to the bus stop across the street from Hotel Concorde. If you wish to travel south from the Hotel you must walk all the way back down the one-way street or go up from the bus stop a few metres to Calle Alfonso L Jones which takes you to the east (one bus stop further) to where all the buses go back down to the south but don't catch a No 2 it goes to the SW to a hospital and no where near to the east coast. The No 12 is the express which goes to Santa Catarina Bus Station and then on to San Telmo Bus Station and the No 1 takes you to the south through all the shopping streets near to the bus stations. Get a good large scale map (free from the information offices). Some show the major bus routes and the one-way streets. There is an open top tourist bus which you can get on and off all day long but it costs 25€ per person per day.

Close to beach, over priced

Posted Nov 30, 2016
Pros: Location
Great location - close to the beach and the tourist information office. However, facilities are very ordinary. We were offered a room that faced internally towards other rooms. Room lighting was poor. Room was located next to the passageway so could hear people at night as they passed the room. Hotel does not have parking facilities. Also didn't offer an iron (suggestion was to give it for dry cleaning and press). It didn't feel like a 4 star hotel overall.

Nice stay

Posted Feb 11, 2016
The hotel is well situated to everything you would want to visit eg Catalina park, the beach, bars and restaurants. The hotel is alittle tired but clean and suited us. The breakfast was plentiful and the view from the restaurant was lovely. If you want a no frills' place to crash this is it.

Good value hotel close to the beach.

This is a good but not outstanding hotel. Facilities are good, bathroom, lifts, WiFi (free in rooms and lounge) modern and working. Food reasonable but not brilliant. Sandy beach two minutes walk, sea front with many places to eat of all types. Less convenient for the main town and historic old town which need bus or car. Friendly and helpful staff speak English, French, German. Nice atmosphere.

Excellent Budget Hotel

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: Good location, friendly and efficient staff.
Cons: More than adequate for the price range.
Location: A minute's walk from the beach and restaurants and bars along the seafront.
Excellent if on a budget. Rooms are clean, secure and adequate for those who don't spend their day in the room. Rooftop pool and sundeck for those who seek somewhere quieter than the beach. Turn left out of the hotel and you are a minute from the beach. A wealth of bars and restaurants along the seafront. Turn right and the main street (Calle Thomas Miller) will lead you in the direction of many other bars, restaurants and plazas on either side. Prices probably were cheaper here than in the South of the island, as more locals than tourists in the area at the time of visiting (late June).

Great location!

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: You can take a bus straight from the airport to the bus terminal. It's a ten minute walk to the hotel.
Cons: Great breakfasts but I wish they had a different variety throughout the week. I basically ate the same thing all week. Great coffee!
Location: Great location, meters away from the beach. Close to lots of shops, restaurants, twenty minute walk to the mall.
Great beach meters away from the hotel. Friendly staff, clean hotel. I'd definitely stay here again. Location to the local shops, cafés, restaurants couldn't be better. Close to the bus terminal, a ten minute walk, we took bus 60 from/to the airport. We took bus one to the old city, Veguetta. Beautiful city, but given the chance to travel to Las Palmas again, I wouldn't waste my time. I rather spend my time at the beach. They have St. Anna Cathedral which you have to pay 3€ to go visit. They also have a tower, which I definitely recommend you go see the view of the city but there is also a fee, but totally worth it! Christopher Columbus museum is also there but we didn't go visit.

Close to beach and short walk to bus station.

Posted May 3, 2014
Pros: Reception staff really helpful..... Free wifi...... Breakfast buffet always being topped up.....
Cons: Would be good to be able to make a cuppa in the room......
Location: Good location to get to bus station if you want to travel around. Great location if you want a beach holiday. Promenade great for walking.
Room simple, sliding doors, maybe once a balcony, able to open windows, when both closed noise from street minimal.... Marble floors, can hear noise from other rooms when people drag rather than lift chairs etc when moving them.... Read to ask to avoid level five as restaurant on level six, I asked on booking form and we were on level two. Great shower head and always hot water.... Good buffet at breakfast, didn't try other meals. Good sun terrace, pool too cold for wimpy me but then so was the sea! Need to walk up one flight of stairs to get to roof from level six. Great location for beach and bus station. Loads of restaurants along the promenade. Whole area is litter free.
