Best location, ever!

Pros: The rooms are good in size, with a great bathroom, comfy bed and the best bathtub! Beautiful light, balcony to the street, great staff.
Cons: Everything was great.
Location: The location is perfect!!! Next to the Teatro Real, very close from the Palace and the Templo Debod, the Hotel in in the Center of Madrid!
The Gran Meliá is in the center of Madrid, at walking distance of the Museum mile (Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia), to the Plaza del Sol, to all the stores, cafes and plazas that make of Madrid one of the most beautiful, enjoyable cities in the world. The Hotel in itself is beautiful and comfortable. The staff is nice and helpful.

Nice hotel, nice people

Pros: Best staff in a long time. Nice, well educated and trained people.
Cons: More comfortable siting options in the room,
Location: There is a lot to do nearby. The opera, the Gran Via, nice churches, wonderful restaurants, especially the famous Mercado de San Miguel. Jamon galore.
Hotel staff is very friendly, well trained and willing to make your stay enjoyable. They provided useful insight about the city, transportation options, etc that I appreciated very much. Almudena, Juan and Hector were particularly nice and I will remember them with warmth. Hotel is nice and clean. Maybe not as comfortable as we spoiled Americans are used to have a nice sofa, better chairs, etc for the price we paid, but overall the room was nice.

Comfort in the heart of Madrid

Very attractive hotel in a historic building, with excellent comfortable rooms and bathrooms. If I could give 11/10 for cleanliness, I would. Amazing beds, linen and pillows. Wish my pillows at home were that good. All the staff were friendly, polite, helpful and charming. Easy walking distance of many main tourist destinations and several metro stations very close by.

Cons: Would be helpful if the hotel stated clearly on Expedia when the rooftop pool is closed as we had expected it to be open.
Your survey should allow customers to just add their ratings , often people won’t have time to fill all of this in and you therefore lose a lot of valuable input

Great stay in Madrid

Pros: everything, clean and well run
Cons: the perfume/scent is quite strong so people with allergies be aware
The hotel was actually very nice and provided great service with Red Level option. We had few glitches with certain staff members but it was sorted out with the management. It is very clean and well run hotel. I think the lobby could be more presentable, comparable to other 5 star hotels. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent Service

Pros: Everyone helpful and friendly. Luxurious surroundings. Bedroom best I have stayed in. Was a superior room, with wet room, and stand alone bath.
Location: Location very central, near to the Gran Via, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.
Upgraded on arrival, brought water and a luggage tag free gift, excellent service throughout 2 night stay. Didn't have any meals there, but enjoyed the ambience.

Stunning 5 star hotel in a fabulous location

We had the most amazing stay in Madrid at this hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary. Hotel was superb - the roof terrace is out of this world! What a view and a great location for seeing all the sights. Brilliant value compared to other 5 star hotels in Madrid.

Ticks all the boxes

Gran Melia does indeed tick all the boxes you'd expect of a 5 Star hotel in a great location. Niggles and these really are niggles check in could have been slicker - breakfast choice could have been wider especially cooked option - pool is more a splash pool - would I stay here again YES.
