Bed was horrible

Posted Sep 8, 2016
The bed was horridly uncomfortable, no comforter, just a sheet & blanket & fridge was sitting on a piece of plywood. I will never stay here again. Over all just a tacky room.

Easy to find..lots of close conveniences

Posted Sep 7, 2016
Checked in Mon evening..lady behind VERY tall partition didn't even look up at me or acknowledge me for several seconds..no one else around. I felt I was intruding...she was very cold and demanding when she actually decided to register me. When we got to our room ..very nice & comfortable. .we requested 2 more pillows by phone and she kind of battled with me..saying we had 6 already..told her 2 of us like more than one pillow. .got our pillows moments later..in short..this lady needs another job#%!!

Upgraded but still short of expectations

Posted Sep 1, 2016
Here's the good & bad: ~ they have updated the rooms, newer furnishings, newer mattress ~ the mattress isn't old but it's not comfortable... but it's not crap either. Just average ~ the lamps are the kind that when you touch them... they turn on. Except, one of my lamps didn't work, so I had to plug/unplug to get it to work. ~ they don't provide facial tissue... bring your own ~ wifi worked well ~ towels are old and sandpaper feel ~ TV channels were very adequate Overall... it's OK. I'd probably look for other motels in this price range before I came back.

Cerca de la carretera y la vía del tren!

Pasar la noche de camino a otro sitio. No hay nada abierto cerca. El ruido de la carretera y los trenes, te recuerdan que estás rodeado de medios de transporte.

Secret Beauty

Posted Aug 6, 2016
Pros: Price, value, breakfast, quiet location.
Cons: more fruit at breakfast
Location: close to old town, restaurants, hiking, Grand Canyon, and medical if you need it
I think people are trying to keep this place a secret with their ratings. Numbers were too low for what they expressed. A terrific value all around. Nice people running it. I too loved having an actual key. I don't know how I missed it when I made my original booking. The only thing I gave pause to , but understand is they prefer you not take the breakfast to you room. I am certain that's for the people that stretch breakfast into lunch. If I'm ever in Flagstaff again this is where I will go.

Mixed Experience

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Pros: The room was very nicely appointed for motel amenities.
Cons: The hotel has hidden cost policies, and Expedia didn't inform us of this on its website.
Location: Everything in Flagstaff is lovely! Great place to stop by on your way to the Grand Canyon.
I was extremely nervous about this hotel given some of the terrible reviews, but I think I figured out why some people rate it highly and some poorly. This is not a hotel for high maintenance people. Staff won't bend over backwards for you, and they have some ridiculous policies (such as a room with 2 Queen Beds being considered single occupancy, so they charge extra for more than 1 adult--in a room with 2 beds). The breakfast is passable if you're desperate. There are pets around, so be okay with that. But for the price, it was actually the nicest motel room we have ever stayed in. Our room was recently renovated, did not smell old or smokey, the beds were very comfortable, the refrigerator and microwave were new and worked well. The room and outside environment were very quiet, we had no trouble with our key, and felt very safe. So if you're vigilant about hidden costs (hold the hotel and Expedia's feet to the fire by going up the chain of command BEFORE filling out check-in paperwork) and don't expect too much, it can be a very good experience. Some of our experience was a pain, but it was worth it for the price!
