Return Visit

Posted Jan 31, 2016
Pros: It is close to Interstate 40 and within walking distance to several restaurants. Easy access from the back of the hotel. Good continental breakfast.
Cons: The drive way was icy and it could have been cleared at least until the stair way to the rooms
Location: There are many antique stores in Flagstaff and this is how one of our days was spent. It is also easy access to the Grand Canyon and its on Route 66!
We had stayed here last year and found it comfortable so decided to stay again on our trip through this year

Pleasantly Surprised

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: Loved that they had complimentary Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast! Staff was very friendly.
When we checked in I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was a property owned by Wyndham. Working for a high-end hotel brand myself it's great to see other brands and their smaller properties. The staff was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our room with the complimentary wi-fi and Continental breakfast.

Good location on bluff away from traffic

Liked the hotel as more upscale than other economy hotels on main road without the upscale price. Breakfast included and ok selections but crowded and seating is limited so had to take up to room to eat.

No WiFi & bad billing- other than that- good hotel

Posted Dec 31, 2015
Pros: Clean room with fridge and microwave. Free coffee and hot chocolate (and cookies) in lobby. Good breakfast.
Cons: Reliable internet/WiFi service. Knowledgeable staff that solves issues and doesn't pass the buck.
Location: Hotel has good location, near edge of town and many restaurants and shopping.
The hotel itself was okay. The room was clean and in good condition. The breakfast was good and the business center was useful for printing a document I needed. BUT... I could get no WiFi connection while I was there. I tried two laptops and a tablet. They connected but the signal was very limited and was not able to use the internet at all while there. I had to use my phone data plan for anything i needed. I was not able to get any work done. Twice I talked with the hotel staff and all they could say was that it was slow due to the hotel being full. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Flagstaff in the winter is always going to be a busy time. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. I don't have this issue with other hotels I've stayed at. The hotel is relatively nice, not a dive; this should not be an issue. Also, when booking the room I used the Expedia 'Pay Later' option. But the hotel ran my card and I was charged for the room before I even got there. I called them (and Expedia) to discuss this. They said they didn't run the card but it was shown in my bank account activity the morning before I arrived (Baymont's name was on the transaction). Again they denied it. When I checked out I used a different credit card to pay. Later that day I received a credit on my bank account showing the money refunded. How are they saying they didn't run my card??? I would have to be desperate to stay there again.
