Good to stay when passing thru

Posted Jan 4, 2016
We will probably stay in a bigger city next time as there weren't many choices. The hotel was ok to stay the night before heading to the grand canyon. It was clean enough and the staff was nice.

We stayed for one night because we were going to ride the train to the Polar Express. The hotel was okay somewhat clean. The continental breakfast was alright, one waffle maker was out of order and they offered mini muffins, cereal, and toast. I have no major complaints. It's not The best Nor The worst hotel I've Stayed ar.

close to train depot

Posted Nov 30, 2015
Pros: The proximity to the train station
Cons: The hotel needs updating, and the free breakfast was disappointing.
Location: The hotel is also near downtown, so you can visit Route 66 stores and diners.
The Howard Johnson's is within walking distance to the train station. This is good, because we were riding on the Polar Express and all parking lots near the depot were completely full. We gave up trying to find a space and returned to HoJo's to park and walk back to the station. The rooms were pretty typical, albeit a bit old and weatherworn. The only warm offering in the small free breakfast room was a waffle maker. Other than waffles, there are some mini-muffins and cereal. No eggs, and it doesn't look like they've ever had eggs. There is orange and apple juice and coffee, if they refill the container. The staff was accommodating. They made sure our party had adjoining rooms and called us the morning of our arrival to warn that a crib may not be available. That was thoughtful, and the heads-up gave us time to bring the Pack and Play for the baby.

Customer service: FAILED!

Posted Nov 7, 2015 on Hotels
It was snowing that night we arrived, Housekeeping left window open so room took all night to even warm up. Heating is very poor. The next morning, already 9:30am staff still hadn't cleaned parking lot or sidewalks. Not even salt was thrown so needless to say my husband feel, to find out 2 others had fallen prior to him from a tour group. Front desk was told several time of problem, nothing was done.
