Good Hotel for one night

Posted May 22, 2017
It was a good stay in that hotel. We went there for only one night on our way to Phoenix. Unfortunately in the room was it a little bit loud because the hotel is next to a rail road.

You get what you pay for

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: The price?
Cons: Customer service, continental breakfast was sub-par
Location: Right next to the museum club - good for Wednesday nights
Bathroom window didn't close properly and was super dirty, it was freezing cold in there, no fan either. We asked for an extra blanket twice, never got it.

Two things to consider

Posted May 20, 2017
First price per night excessive. NAU graduation on Saturday night drove up prices everywhere but price for room seemed especially high considering there are no emenites. Second be prepared for noise. Bar next door plays late into the night and trains pass on Route 66.

Not the greatest

Posted May 18, 2017
Staff isn't that friendly, it was like no one wanted to work there. Appliances in the room didn't work, from lights to the mini fridge.

Never again

Posted May 18, 2017
Pros: The restaurant attached to the front is great and the morning continental breakfast was good.
Cons: The desk workers attitude !!! After they finally switched our room they rented the room with the gap to someone else without fixing the problem.
Location: It is a college town. So there are little local shops. We only stayed one night for graduation at NAU then we left.
The room looked clean enough when we walked in. We checked the beds ,as we do in all hotels/motels. The sheets were stained and it had a slit in the sheet. That was all acceptable. What was not acceptable was when the outside door was closed it had a 2 inch gap so you could see outside. And of course anyone could see inside. It was backed up to the woods so we would have creators coming in all night. When I went to the man at the front desk he was very rude. He kept saying that it didn't bother other people who had stayed there and that we had touched the beds. He didn't have a maintenance crew working that weekend so ,"what did I expect him to do". I told him that if he gave me hammer and nails I would fix it. He just kept saying." what do you expect me to do". I told him I expected him to fix it or move us. He finally moved us. I think he did that because I showed the picture of the door to the man behind me trying to find a room. The water from the shower runs all over the bathroom floor. It was just a bad experience. We will defiantly not return. FYI this is a motel not hotel.

must be cheap

Posted May 16, 2017
Relatively clean. Loud next to train tracks. Door does not open or close right and has lots of cold air coming my through. Breakfast was worst I have seen with only Fruit Loops, Corn Flakes, white toast, mini donuts, juice and coffee.

Right out of " My Cousin Vinny ".

Trains across the street went by all night and most would announce their presence by honking. First we arrived late had to call the manager 3 times as he requested before he got up. Walkways were crumbling and rusty. Room heater was very noisy. Way too expensive for this place. And when went into the office to check out, the male clerk sat on the phone with someone else not looking up once. An unfortunate woman had been waiting prior to us. How rude ! After a full 10 minutes, I dropped our room key and left. Try everywhere else first.

Grand Canyon Getaway

Posted Apr 25, 2017
The hotel was old but updated. It was clean. I rated it poorly as the ground floor bathroom did not latch and did not seal. It was April so we did not have to worry about it being too cold but it would be a concern in January. The bar across the parking lot is very loud. The main door did not seal and we could see daylight all around it. It did not close fully.

Pros: It was comfortable, the beds were clean
Location: The restaurant connected to the hotel is excellent, the food is great, the atmosphere is warm and the staff are friendly
It was a nice room to stay for a night, you can hear the train throughout the night. They only have a continental breakfast, but have a great restaurant right next door, The Canyon Railroad Restaurant, food is excellent.
