THIS HOTEL WASNT AS BAD AS THE REVIEWS MADE IT OUT TO BE. THE ROOM WAS SMALL BUT GOOD ENOUGH. THE LOBBY DID SMELL LIKE CURRY BUT MY ROOM SMELLED FINE. ITS IN A GOOD LOCATION. NEXT TO DOWNTOWN AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING ELSE PARKING LOT WAS SMALL BUT THEY HAVE A BACK UP PARKING LOT THAT IS VERY SPACIOUS. THE BED WAS COMFY. SLEPT REAL GOOD. CHEAPEST HOTEL I FOUND IN FLAGSTAFF BY ALOT AND EVRYTHING WAS FINE.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!

Posted Aug 9, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: TREAT FOR BED BUGS! Dirty stained tub.
Location: The location of this hotel is the only truly positive thing about it - it was close by everything downtown. Walking distance from breweries!
We checked in with a very pleasant staff member about an hour early, which was much appreciated as we were in town for a wedding and needed an extra few minutes to get ready. Our hotel was fine. Nothing amazing. Definitely not a palace but there was a bed, running water, and a functioning AC unit (we are easy to please). Unfortunately, while sleeping on the left side of the bed in room 119, my husband was devoured by bed bugs. He was bitten on his hands, hips, knees, inner thighs, arms, and feet - absolutely impossible places to have been bitten by mosquitos or any other pest as we spent all our time outside the hotel fully clothed (socks, shoes, long sleeve shirt, jacket). We had to practically incinerate our clothing and bags upon arrival at home so we wouldn't bring bed bugs inside our house. Super disappointing and awful considering we had an otherwise lovely weekend in Flagstaff. If we weren't educated about bed bugs, we would have unknowingly brought these impossible to kill pests into our home which would have ruined our lives for several weeks, not to mention the associated cost. STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE EATEN ALIVE OR HAVE YOUR HOMES RUINED!

Nice hotel

Fun cheap place to stay that's walking distance to a lot of fun places. Only complaint is that the pillows suck so bring your own and you'll be fine!

Rude people.

Managers were very unfriendly. Old & shoddy rooms with band aids put over things to mask its condition. Smallest room I've ever seen

great staff, old building

Posted Jul 18, 2016
This place is in a great location and is in walking distance to lots of food and nightlife but the building is in serious need of renovation. Our toilet paper holder fell of the wall the first time we used it due to a botched previous drywall repair. Room was clean but extremely small.

Just what we needed

Posted Jul 16, 2016
We were looking for a clean safe inexpensive place to sleep while on a road trip. We were not hanging around or spending much time at all at the motel but it was perfect for what we needed. It did not look like the pictures. It was similar but more like the red headed stepchild of the picture. Clean, not run down but not super new, super small but it had a queen bed and a shower. That's all we needed for the 8 hours we were there!

Don't be fooled by convenient locatio to Amtrak

Posted Jun 27, 2016
My family booked a room at this hotel due to it's proximity to the Flagstaff Amtrak stop. The train comes through in the very early morning so we wanted something within walking distance. We knew it was not a 5 star hotel but figured since it is part of the Choice Hotels chain, it would be clean even if the rooms were dated. Boy were we wrong! The person who checked us in smelled profusely of alcohol. The room was disgustingly dirty. The sheets were stained. The water in the shower did not drain so within seconds there was water up to your ankles. To say that no one slept a wink is an understatement. There was no getting in these beds! We all tried to sleep but stayed in our jeans and long sleeves on top of the bed. I have never been more happy to see 4 am so we could get out of there an head to the train station. I will never stay in a Choice Hotel again if this is the kind of place they allow to use there name.

Hotel close to downtown

Posted Jun 2, 2016
Pros: Just the location.
Cons: Sell it, or tear it down and put a better hotel, with more parking.
Location: It is a perfect location to the downtown area.
There is a city fee that is not listed on the online pricing, so you have to pay that when you check in. The front desk staff chased us down to make sure that we paid the fee. When we got into the room, it smelt like cat pee or something of that nature, there was BBQ sauce dripping on the wall and the bath tub looked like murder scene from "Psycho". The towels and linens, weren't quite white enough, but they did smell heavy of bleach. So it makes this consumer wonder if their wash solution is 90% bleach and 10% water, not something you want to harm your guest with, I did leave the hotel with red rashes on my body, due to this poor quality. I wonder why I had to leave my CCard for incidentals when the quality of the room was so poorly kept. I could not voice my complaint because there was no one on due at the front desk, at night or in the morning for check out. For the amount that you spent you could stay in a high class hotel and still be given better treatment.
