Piece of paradise

Quiet resort on quiet east end. Beautiful beach with good snorkeling just out your door. All rooms beach front. Beach bar food is great. Entertainment on site but we opted for quiet nights. Family friendly. Convenient to diving shops and grocery. My second but not last visit.

Nice, out of the way.

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Relaxing, quiet.
Cons: Nothing the hotel could do.
Location: Grocery, Liquor/Beer/Wine store near by. Lots of things closed on Sunday throughout the Island so plan a bit ahead.
While being out of the way from Georgetown, that is a good thing if you want to just relax. There are enough places around to make it more comfortable (i.e. Grocery store, etc.). If you want the Georgetown experience, which you should go to a couple of times, it's only 30mins away. Be mindful about the cruse ships in town though, not fun. Overall, a great place to go and will do again.

Out of the Way - Quiet

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Peace and quiet and excellent reception staff. Very helpful.
Location: Two fabulous places to eat are the Lighthouse and the Warf downtown.
We wanted a place by ourselves and got it. Only a few other guests in the hotel at the time of our stay 8/16-21. We rented a car upon arrival with was the best thing as we were able to travel the island and see a lot. Close enough but far enough away. Great beach but a little rocky for my wife.

Relaxing and no crowds!

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Was a beautiful place and enjoyed the fact that I sometimes felt I was the only one there. The facility is spaces that you have plenty of privacy which is just what we wanted after many vacations fighting for beach chairs and space in comparable U.S. Destinations. You literally would never need to leave the resort as there are many water activities and things to do there. One warning is that if your looking for a swimming beach this is not the one as the reef and rocks are close to the shore, but our kids loved the fact the snorkeling was amazing right off the beach and never said a word about the swimming! The swimming pools are spacious and were never crowded and most kids that is where they want to go to swim anyways.... At least mine do.

Good for price point

Great front of house staff. Nice property but not super well maintained. Elevator broke down. Room key system old and failing. Several people, including is had to be rekeyed. Landscaping needs improvement but pool was well maintained. Housekeeping was poor and getting a towel for either a shower or the pool was like pulling teeth.

Great hotel. Right on the Beach

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The room was perfect for our 5-person family. It would work for six people as well. We took advantage (and saved a lot of money) of the full kitchen
Cons: The Barefoot Man concert was a complete waste of money.
Location: Don't miss Stingray City - An absolute highlight!
If you want a peaceful, beautiful location and enjoy warm water beaches, this is the place for you.

A very good value.

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The beautiful beach, which is directly in front of the resort, is nearly always deserted.
Cons: I can't think of anything that could be done to improve the resort. The rooms are clean and well mantained. The staff are friendly.
Location: The is a tiny shopping center across the road from the resort that has a nice Italian restaurant, liquor store, grocery store and gift shop.
The Wyndham is on the east end of the island so it is quiet and uncrowded. If you want to do a lot of shopping you will have to rent a car (and learn how to drive on the left side of the road) or take the shuttle from the resort. However, there are up to three cruise ships docked at Georgetown each day so shops get incredibly crowded. The resort has barbeque nights, movie nights, etc.but there isn't a lot of activities unless you like to scuba dive, snorkel or go sailing.

Relax in your beachfront suite!

Posted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: Location,and lack of crowds
Cons: Cover the window on the door that faces the restroom
Location: On the extreme East End get a rental or prepare to pay for the taxi
We booked our room at The Wyndam Reef Resort and it was Wonderful! Our room was on the 2nd floor but no worries, ELEVATORS. The rooms are bright and cheerful. We loved the beach views and nice balcony. Our suite had a full kitchen even salt and pepper. There is a market immediately across the street. We got a rental car and highly recommend one if you can orient yourself to sitting on the right and driving on the left! We went to public beaches and were the only ones there. The water is warm approaching bath temp in the shallow water. The staff works diligently keeping the beach and the grounds clean! There is a Subway onsite as well. Beautiful resort, if you want loud late night parties this is Not your spot!
