Hotel close to the downtown area.

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: The hotel was close to the downtown area and if had to walk from it close to shopping and night life.
Cons: More upkeep is needed to maintenance of exterior entrance ways so they work properly and not have to be propped open.
Check-in was alright & staff tried to accommodate us for handicap issues. Hotel does show its age but it is clean. The exterior pass doors from different areas of the hotel did not work properly and had to be propped open making them a fire hazard for site.

I like that it's close to Minnesota

Posted May 30, 2017
I like that it's close to Minnesota, The hotel was really good the room was very clean nice, staff was friendly and helpful, the only thing that we would've liked is if they continued with their continental breakfast. Having a continental breakfast is very important to my husband so I would like to stay there the next time we come to Grand Forks but we will have to see. Also the hot tub was not working but life happens. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Poor hotel

Posted May 25, 2017
Pros: Staff were OK.
Cons: New management.
Location: Close to old Grand Forks but I was on a business trip.
Checked in after 4 PM. No room available. Had to settle for a single queen instead of a double queen. The pool and hot tub were closed for repairs. Business guests like me were placed in rooms next to loud family guests. I will not stay there again!

Property was under renovation, pool and hot tub were not available. The free breakfast was also not available, according to posted notices at the front desk. Good rate for a king room, convenient parking outside.

Overpowering deodorizer smell. Pool and hot tub closed due to renovations. No continental breakfast although advertised at time of booking.

Updates are coming, but......

Posted May 15, 2017
had to move to another room at night - the shower wouldn't work. Got to the next room - and updates are there, but not very many. So it's really an overpriced old hotel that has new flooring and some rooms have a newer tv. Paid way too much!

People need to lose their jobs!!

Posted May 12, 2017
Was in town for presentation and in the middle of the presentation, I was left a voicemail from the front desk of the Red Roof Inn. I had reserved and paid for 2 nights at the hotel and the voicemail was an ultimatum to get my stuff out of the room by noon or they would charge my card again. This was after the first night. When we got back to the hotel to discuss with them their mistake, they gave me excuses and told me I needed to contact a third party to fix the issue, pay for the night again, or find a new place to stay. Nita and the manager on duty on the day of April 27, 2017 should be fired immediately for their terrible customer service and just down right incompetence. All others should avoid this hotel like Ebola.

Hotel stay before flight

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Pros: The airport shuttle worked very well! Good hotel rates.
Stayed at hotel the night before flying to Orlando. Rooms were ok, carpets were dirty, beds were ok not great, overall the rooms are quite dated and could use some new beds, carpet and a fresh coat of paint. There is a bar in the hotel and at 2am there was a lot of noise from the people leaving the bar, this woke up the whole family. The evening front desk people weren't sure how the airport shuttle worked and said to ask someone in the morning. There is a mini-golf course in the middle of the hotel, it is in bad need of repair!

Nice staff, may go back when renovations are done

Posted Apr 4, 2017
This hotel has a lot of potential and they are in the process of renovating, but for our stay the pool was broken, the hot tub sat upside down on the deck and the mini golf course looks like someone took a Weed Wacker to the carpets. Not really an issue for me alone but I had my kids with me and it caused a lot of friction and disappointment. The breakfast food in the bar was good, but you had to pay extra to get hot food. No waffles either! We ended up paying to go to another pool. Also the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the carpet looked clean, but felt like I wanted to keep my shoes on.
