Nice relaxing location friendly staff

We stayed here for two weeks on May, it's a lovely quiet well run hotel. All the staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was as relaxed as possible.

It was a very long check in. The morning of check out day we were interrupted to check the mini bar even though we had a Do not disturb sign on our door, Also, we got asked by four different hotel staff about our check out time on the morning of check out even though 12pm is the posted time. One Security staff at the parking lot was not friendly on departure day check out. Some staff seemed more worried about this than actually how our stay had been. One young waiter at the beach restaurant asked whether we had pd our bill upon our leaving without a thank you or asking us if we enjoyed the food. He failed to realize we had pd the bill with the other waiter. The hotel is in a perfect location and a stunning location. In my opinion a few staff members as well as the security staff member lack of courtesy needs room for improvement.

I am terribly sorry for your remarks; please do accept our sincere apologies, as indeed, these are not our established standards; same have been brought up to the heads of department concerned for corrective actions and measures.Moreover, intensive training has been planned for all our people - new and old recruits alike, starting next month for a 2 months' basis. Having read your comments a couple of times, I see these more as clumsiness from our part, than anything else. To be fair to our people, a vast majority of us do sincerely care about how guests are getting along... DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT....this one of the worst deals and terrible service we have ever received. Normally never rate a resort or hotel so badly , but this accomodation did not treat us very fairly at all...the resort, pools and beach were very nice, however the service was very bad and the prices were absolutely out of this world..our a/c unit in our room never worked and they would not fix it...our room was near the bar and was extremely loud til late every night..the food was very expensive and quite unsatisfactory at best, so we drove into the next town each night to dine and had wonderful and reasonable meals at a local restaurant. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT!!

Hospitality at its best

Iv travelled the entire world staying at 4 -5star resorts , and this hotel has the friendliest staff And most hospitable staff going above and beyond . Special thanks to Francesca . Amenities were fantastic . Only downside is the unstable wifi . Wonderful hotel all round

Indeed, in general, in Mauritius WIFI is not to European standard yet. Although we have plans to increase the band width and the areas of coverage, because right now the rooms are not covered, in my humble opinion, free wifi for public use, will not be the same as at home. Why? First, after analysis, we have found that there are peak hours, where many many users try to connect; then according to our IT people, we have some devices which are not compatible with the network, and third, individual behaviours cannot be predicted - at one point, we have found that someone was downloadiing six movies at the same time... Two weeks in Paradise

Pros: Almost everything, especially views, pool, loungers, beds, food, no children, staff, location etc. Free minibus to Grand Bais, free use of canoes etc
Cons: The Wifi was very frustrating. Whilst I appreciate that a holiday is a 'getaway from it all' the modern world expects connectivity. Needs a revamp.
Location: We hired a car for the duration and so as we visited in the islands winter, we were able to drive to just about anywhere in an hour.
What an excellent place to stay. The staff were really very, very good, friendly, helpful and some of the cheeriest people I have ever encountered. The views from the hotel were superb and I'd recommend at least a visit or two to their A la Carte restaurant at the beach. There were no children at the hotel which was bliss, having endured a twelve our flight in a nursery school for a plane.

The hotel staff is absolutely wonderful. Most of them do their best to make your stay memorable. This is the hotel's greatest advantage. Comfort rooms are rather small, but functional. Hot water runs 90% of the time. AC works, but is loud which can be an issue at night. Unless you are with an all-inclusive package, drinks are rather pricey (about the level of a major European city). Beach-side restaurant is good for lunch, though quality is very unstable - we had one day an excellent octopus salad, and sent it back the next day. Some other reviewers mentioned the food was repetitive - that's true to an extend (eg, for dinner there was always a chicken dish, a fish dish, a veggie dish, and a lamb/beef dish - but they were made in different extend). But the food is very tasty, and it's hard to conceive one would come away from breakfast/dinner hungry. Warning about the beach - do not expect a picturesque long white beach. There's a small beach with ample beds, but the sea doubles as a port. Hence, it's shallow and very rocky (I cut my foot twice in the first two days). To be able to swim, you need to walk about 100m into the sea. Good advice - bring some rubber shoes! The village provides zero opportunity for fun, but busses stop at the hotel's gate, and can bring you to sightseeing or shopping in less than an hour at a rock-bottom price.

Holiday of a lifetime

Pros: They have two restaurants which were one serving a varied arrangement of buffet style meals. The other was a more specialised menu.
Cons: The facility could do more during the day, however it depends on what you want from your holiday.
Location: A trip on the local bus service to Grand Baie is a must. MUR31.00 one way pre person, the local taxi costs MUR1300 for a return trip.
From the moment we walked into the Veranda Paul and Virginie hotel and spar the staff were so curtious and helpful we wanted for nothing. The hotel is right on the beech with facilities to do snorkelling, sailing, board surfing, wind surfing & glass bottom boat trips all included. They also have a catremaran to hire for personal use. The two restaraunts differ as one serves buffet style food and the other serves a more refined menu, and the King prawns are a must. The spar is also a must at this hotel the the wife used it three times. There are various tour operators to book you on your day trips which the wife and I used for reasonable prices.

Very decent, the rooms are spacious, the food available on the buffet is limited. The hotel is quite secluded from the main areas of Mauritius.
