Enjoyable stay with only minor issues

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Pros: Front desk staff, both young ladies were very nice. Breakfast, pool, hot tub, outdoor grill area. Fitness room.. parking was good as well
Cons: Cleanliness of breakfast area when normal staff is off. Clean up around the outer perimeter of the lot, it's a mess. The pool could be a degree warmer
Location: Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa. There are lots of biking, hiking, birding and fishing areas available.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's very close to the airport, has a good breakfast, a hot tub, indoor poor.. But what made the stay enjoyable was the friendliness of the staff and the Monday to Wednesday mixers. One of the front desk staff gave my 6yo son a knitted headband.. He was thrilled.. The grill area was a nice place to sit outside and enjoy our grilled food.. Now.. the things that could be improved. There is a lot of trash around the outer perimeter of the parking lot, including what looked like a rib cage and backbone of some large animal. There were literally dozens of cups and other trash just outside the parking lot.. It appears the trash gets raided and dumped by animals. The wifi was slow, but the annoying part was that it kept logging us out and we'd have to go back to the website to log in.. I use an amazon echo dot while on trips and it would not work on this wifi hardly at all.. It's too cumbersome to keep connecting through an app. There were small kids (2-4) on more than one occasion in the hot tub. While I understand families wanting to be together, I don't think it's appropriate for small children to be in there with a few hundred gallons of water for obvious reasons. Maybe the water in the pool could be a degree or two warmer to reduce the family gathering in the hot tub. The breakfasts were generally good..fitness room was nice. We were comfortable and extended our stay a couple of days

spotless, welcoming, comfortable

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Location: We were too tired to explore--but the hotel is in a suburban enclave of hotels and restaurants--not a quaint, CO town. It's a good jumping off point.
We stayed here on our way home from a 10 day trip to the national parks in UT. The hotel is modern, exceptionally clean and well run with lovely public spaces, laundry room, and complimentary happy hour a few nights a week. It was the perfect place to refresh. The breakfast buffet was also a cut above the usual offerings. A great place to stay as you head across the West!

Nice hotel close to interstate

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Cons: The breakfast was one of our least favorites based on other motels we've stayed at. Food was pretty bland and we didn't care for the selection as much
Location: Eat at Ristorante Pantuso nearby. Awesome Italian cuisine.
We are traveling to Arizona and stayed over one night. The hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly. We had a marvelous dinner at a nearby Italian place Ristorante Pantuso. It's family owned, great service, and fabulous food.

Cutting costs

Posted Aug 15, 2017 on Hotels
We have stayed here multiple times in the past because we have family in the area. We have always been pleased with our stay in the past but had a different experience this time. We were missing pillows for the roll out bed and upon calling the front desk were told that all the staff had gone home so we would need to come down to the desk if we wanted them. We were also missing the ironing board from the room that we had to go down and retrieve as well as other basic toiletries from the room. One of the reasons we stay here is because of the basketball court for our son. The net on the hoop was damaged so the ball would get stuck in the hoop. Lastly, when we went to breakfast at 8am, they were out of regular coffee, orange juice, fruit and other basic items. Coffee... really! It really seemed as if they were cutting costs to the point that it had a negative impact on our experience. For the price, it wasn't worth it. We probably won't go back.

The kitchen in the room was lovely and we were having a great time until we pulled the sheets back and they had not been changed. There was what looked like blood or a chocolate milkshake on the sheets and that was quite a turn off. But the staff did bring new sheets immediately that were pretty wrinkly and did not provide much assurance that they were any cleaner. We chose not to stay a second night and were told that we must deal with hotels.com to get our money back.

Clean and comfortable room. Excellent front desk help and the transport service to take us around town for things was great and unexpected. I'll definitely stay here again in the future.

Not-So-Grand Junction

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Pros: Not much
Cons: Fix the plumbing and electrical service, instruct cleaning staff to pay attention to bathrooms and desk clerk to limit chitchat when guests are waitig
Location: Not much, its Grand Junction.
Fairly new Residence Inn by Marriott located adjacent to I-15 in GJ. Surprisingly hard to find as it is tucked behind a sister larger Marriott Hotel some distance off the freeway. CO has switched to a confusing and dangerous circular roundabout intersection design that ay have you driving three times around the circle and still miss the correct exit to your desired street. Once at the motel, there was a single clerk dealing with a single family ahead of me checking in. She saw me but decided to chitchat with the family ahead for a good looooong time rather than wrap it up and check me in. Annoying after a long day driving to stand invisible for 10 minutes. She finally checked me in to the usual suite. Layout and overall cleanliness was OK, except but the bathroom smelled of urine, and the toilet was not clean. The bathroom water pressure for showering was a bare trickle but the tub drain didnt work well so you're ankle deep in dirty water before completing the trickle shower. Then the inadequate electrical outlet in the bathroom blew out the provided hair dryer, leaving the odor of burnt wiring and a day with wet hair. Big NOPE.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your recent stay was. I can understand your frustration with the newly renovated roads that lead to our hotel and having to wait to check in. I have notified my staff of the issues and have coached them to what is expected in the future. Please try us again when you are in Grand Junction!

Enjoyable

The accommodations are great. Friendly, helpful staff from the time I checked in to check out. I met a kind room cleaning technician named Dianne. She was hospitable when I met her at check in and was kind when I checked out. Raul was helpful at the front desk. Everyone was friendly and the facility was clean.
