Beautiful hotel, with some problems

Posted Sep 25, 2017
Pros: It was new and clean and the design was modern.
Cons: The bathroom doors were very noisy and light coming through the doors disturbed someone sleeping.
Location: The hotel is in the downtown area which has many shos and restaurants. In the general area, there are scenic parks.
This is a new, very nice hotel. Breakfasts were very high quality and the staff was friendly. The one problem we found had to do with the design of the rooms. Our room had two bathrooms; one with a shower and sink and the other with a toilet and sink. Each bathroom had a door that moved on rollers, like a barn door, and had a large translucent panel in the middle. When a neighbor moved one of their doors, the noise was very loud and disturbing. When we used our bathroom in the night, the light coming through the translucent panel was disturbing to a person sleeping.

Pros: Beds
Location: Routine explanation of the parking charges if you park anywhere on the hotel property
Hotel was just your average, run of the mill, cookie cutter chain hotel with a poorly trained staff. We asked about parking and were advised that we could park in the front of the hotel street parking, and given a bright orange dashboard pass with giant letters displaying "HOTEL PARKING" and told to place it on the dash. We did that. When we checked out, we were charged 6 dollars per day to park there. When I asked why I wasn't advised of the charge when the clerk handed me the pass, I was told that the fee is prominently displayed on their website and in the small print on the pass. Does anybody read the small print on a hotel issued parking pass? I told her I booked with Expedia, not their website. The front desk clerk's reply was almost literally, "well, that's too bad". There was no indication of regret at all about the lack of communication.
