Beautiful building badly in need of refurbishing

Beautiful building and good food. Badly in need of fresh paint and new furnishings . Above the 1st floor, it has the "charm" of a cheap motel.

Bed bugs and staff did not care

I stayed at Hotel Metropole for three nights in July/August. When I awoke in the morning and turned on the table lamp by the bed, I found one adult bed bug crawling out from under my pillow toward the middle of the bed. I captured him in a glass and called the front desk to report that the room had bed bugs. The woman at the desk apologized and said the manager would be available to speak to me in 30 minutes. She asked if I wanted the sheets changed. I told her no because I was checking out that morning but that they needed to fumigate the room, not just change the sheets. 45 minutes later, I went downstairs to speak to the manager. She told me again that he was not available and to try again in 30 minutes. I handed her the dead bed bug in the glass. She looked disgusted and apologized again. I went back to the desk 30 minutes later and was told that the manager was finally in but was now busy with other things. I asked if he could call me, and she said he would not but that I was welcome to email him. Managing a bed bug infestation is clearly no concern to them. She comped two breakfasts I guess as consolation. I'm sure someone else is now staying in the infested room. I checked into the Hyatt in Amsterdam before my flight out and they are washing all of my clothes.

Beautiful Hotel

Pros: It is very beautiful, however the main characteristic is how centric it is.
Cons: One of the bars was closed, the biggest and beautiful one, because of last minute repairs to the roof. Was not able to hear the piano with a drink.
Location: Close and center to everything.
This is a very nice hotel located very centric at 5 mins walking to the most beautiful square in the world. The hotel staff was very pleasant and willing to help, specially the concierge was very helpful. The room Belle Epoque decoration was very nice with a balcony. Close to restaurants, shopping areas, touristic attractions.

Rooms in the newer part of the hotel were lovely.

Initial room was horrible. Very small, dark and VERY RED! Upgraded to a fabulous room in the newer section of the hotel. Hotel location was perfect. Close to shopping, metro, food and sites.

Nice Brussels hotel

Check in was at 3pm but they were able give me the room at 12:45 which was amazing since I had been flying all and was super exhausted. Super clean room and helpful staff

Hotel is under construction

Hotel and the entrance streeets are under construction, nothing is mentioned at the hotel website , we had to walk a lot with our luggages , the Main Street access is closed

Very beautiful. Good location. About 15 min walk from central station or you can take a tram which goes directly to the hotel.
