Disappointing hotel past its best

Pros: Good service from the concierge. Very central location.
Cons: Room furnishings (dark & dated), room repair, bathroom repair - black grout is unforgivable, proper hair dryer, firmer bed.
Location: Fantastically central, few minutes from the Galleries Royal and Grand Place and the shops, bars, restaurants etc.
Stayed here a few years ago and had a better experience then in an upgraded room. This time the standard room was small and poorly furnished/decorated for the price. Bed was so soft it was uncomfortable. There were bits that needed repair and the bathroom needed an upgrade or at least re-grouting the tiles which were black around the bath. Have to step into the bath for the shower and the space was tight. Hairdryer was the awful box on the wall type in the bathroom and was pathetically weak, also tricky to use. Room faced inward looking over the ground floor restaurant so felt claustrophobic. Overall over-priced. When checking out the receptionist asked how we'd found our room and didn't bother following up when I said 'Not great, was just okay'. the hotel is in a fantastic location for the city and seems busy most of the time and perhaps that has made them complacent. Definitely wont be using it again.

Lovely central hotel

Hotel was lovely and the staff both very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, trains, metro etc. Our room was spotless as were all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and as an added bonus ran until 11am !!!

Good location

Pros: Bar area, staff friendly, rooms clean and comfortable, excellent location
Location: 6 minute walk from Central Train Station, a stones throw from bars & cafes and Grand Place
Excellent 4 day break in Brussels. Took the train to Ghent (30 mins) and Bruges (1 hour). Only 15 mins from the Airport by Train. Train station very clean and ticket office(s) very helpful.

Stayed in this hotel before.reception staff smart and very helpful.room spotless.hotel is outstanding and in a great location close to Grand Place and the Central station.breakfast very good.highly recommend hotel

Nice hotel minutes from Grand Place

Cons: Air condition in room
Location: Near Grand Place, Mannekin Pis, Brussels Central, shops
Very good and centric hotel walking distance to Grand Place and best chocolate stores😉. Also very near Brussels Central train. For 15 € per person add a very complete breakfast

Very close to the Grand Place

Pros: It's location
Cons: Bathrooms and slippers in the rooms please!
Location: It's a short walk from the Royal Galleries, the Grand Place, Mannekin Pis, shops, restaurants and bars plus the metro station.
The hotel is close to all the major tourist attractions, bars, restaurants etc. You can also get to Brussels Midi quite quickly on the metro or by taxi. The hotel itself is fine. There's a nice bar area with a pond with fish in it. The lifts are see-through so you can see the internal court from above. The roof is like a sky light so at night the rooms aren't pitch black if you need them to be. There were no robes or slippers in the room. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Great location

The Radisson Blu Royal is a nice hotel in a great location in Brussels. The room was spacious, especially by European standards.The hotel is an easy walk to the Grand Place area. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. There were plenty of outlets to plug in our electronics. My only gripe is that the hair dryer is the old "box on the wall" type with a long hose that gets very hot after a while. If I knew that, I would have taken my own hair dryer. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay.

Convenient for centre

Business hotel close to centre of Brussels. Room was ok - maybe getting slightly dated. Bed was quite small (Norma double I think) Able to use fitness centre to get a shower after we'd checked out before late night flight. Not sure why but they told us a taxi to Charleroi airport would be 160euro. We got another taxi ourselves for 85. Maybe they are taking a big cut??
