Statue to the fictional character Evangeline in front of the memorial building for the displaced Acadiens. For 8 years in the middle 1700's the British forcibly removed the French speaking Acadiens from this area because of an unfounded fear that they would take up arms against them. Grand Pre was an area of reclaimed land that was incredibly fertile. Once the Acadiens were removed from the area it was settled by British citizens including some from the original 13 colonies when the American Revolutionary War started.

"Lovely updated room and bathroom with a large walk in shower. Quiet location but close to amenities. Breakfast was yogurt and granola with a warm homemade scone. Just enough to start the day. Friendly staff and great winter price. Would definitely recommend and go back. "
