Very nice hotel

The staff was very friendly. The hallway carpets were a little dated and somewhat dirty, but the room was real nice and clean and very comfortable.

decent location, comfortable, but too dang hot

The Sandman is a short walk away from where we watched a concert. Good room, decent beds. Way too hot! It was +25 in our room with the thermostat set at 15. Had the ac going all night just to make it bearable. Good staff and decent accomodations though. Comfortable beds

Good stay. Nice amenities. Found hairs on towels - luckily they provided extras.

A hotel in a prairie winter

Pros: We did like the hotel as it was very quiet and it was situated with a restaurant which was very convenient considering the weather.
Cons: A friendlier counter staff and a more thorough cleaning staff.
Location: The hotel is well situated near the centre of the city. It was a good location considering we were there to attend a funeral.
We came to Grande Prairie, AB to attend a family funeral. We have stayed in other Sandman hotels and found them quite good. The first contact was with the desk clerk. She was a lady of color and initially startled me with her stern greeting. Later on she became more friendly. The card readers in the elevators had difficulty reading our room keys until the third set. I suspect a dirty reader or poor messaging on the magnetic strip. The first day the only cleaning done by the cleaning staff was to have the beds made. The bathroom was not touched at all. There were small pieces of dirt on the floor that were not cleaned and the sink had not been touched and had remnants of medication from my wife's use still in the sink. Otherwise it was okay.

Great hotel as central to all amenities

Good location. Pricey, but that's typical of Grande Prairie. The key cards for entry to the room and the elevator wouldn't work several times; rather frustrating.

It is a busy location, but having Denny's restaurant downstairs was great! Room was comfortable.
