The bathroom could of used better tiles and the breakfast foods were stale! Though the service was decent.

The 11 Choice brands: STAY TWICE, GET A FREE NIGHT

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: Irrelevant - Corporate has crippled all - individuals are helpless. Cool real life police take-down action.
Cons: The Choice Hotels CEO hired in May, 2017 could be fired immediately & honesty integrated into corporate culture.
Location: Why? No one need stay with cheats - go elsewhere. Try the County Jail if police & cons interest you.
The EconoLodge Clerk knew nothing of STAY TWICE but 'Ask tomorrow.' Next morning I met 2 police officers in green military attire, hand on holster, apparently placed strategically as support for a 3rd officer in a hotel room convincing the occupant to 'NOT STAY'. Asking about “STAY TWICE” was a poor idea as the Desk contained a 4th police officer. I phoned Choice but the Clerk could not talk as all employees were immediately starting a meeting, closing through US Central Time hours. I later called & the Clerk said he would solve STAY TWICE but I did not exist in his computer. 'Innkeepers Acts' require guest ID, understandable when multiple officers need to engage with a guest. The Clerk tried to end my call but I insisted he call the hotel. I existed & received a Choice Privileges number, but was ineligible for STAY TWICE as I booked through Expedia. He noted that terms & conditions apply. True, but corporations tend to refrain from flagrant customer deception if the money saved is less than the profits gained from honesty. In addition to 2 stays in the present Choice qualifying period, I have also stayed at Choice properties for another several nights & a non-Expedia provider shows further Choice stays. The word 'simple' appears 5 times on the Choice Home page, with 291 words in Terms & Conditions & 1174 words in FAQs. A total of 1,465 words is not 'simple'. Total trip lodging expenses were over $1000. And Choice wants none of that ever again? Amazing.

Pros: It was on the travel path, so easy to get to and back on the way in the morning.
I just needed a place for the night to stop and sleep. Nothing fancy here, but it was sufficiently comforable for me. They had a welcome bag waiting for me with water and a snack.

Extra Charges

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Pros: Cashier was really nice and accommodating.
Cons: Their accounting.
Location: Location is decent, and there is a bar nearby.
They took my credit card for incidentals, and then decided to charge it without any explanation; I paid for the reservation through Expedia. I called them back and spoke to Priank, who told me he will figure this out; 4 days later, I still haven't heard anything.
