My 'check-in' was awful (it was right after midnight, which I'd informed that it would be then), which left me with a bitter taste, as the person (I'll not say, clerk, as he looked like someone whose slumber I'd disturbed and who presented as such)---came to the counter, whilst on a personal phone call and fumbled my confirmation by deleting same, as it wasn't being given the required 'full attention' by someone in the 'service industry'.
I eventually was able to make my way to the room, which didn't 'live-up' to the exorbitant rate I was charged. (a few rustic appliances adorned the room in the form of a radio, bath and toilet fixtures and air condition unit, which wasn't a design addition, but ancient features.
The next day's staff was the only feature that presented as current and not 'a throwback' and they allayed my fears, that my stay wouldn't be a total disaster.
Would I stay there again; no!
