close to town yet right on the waterPosted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: close to town right on the water, nice pool,
Cons: pool hours extended. didn't love the room-rugs
Location: we biked into town (Greenport) everyday but it is walkable as well.
We stayed in one of the smaller buildings and it was roomy and comfortable. There is a shabbiness to the buildings and the rooms but I prefer that to the slick institutional feel of other places. It was clean and comfortable and convenient to the pool and marina which is right outside out door. There was a concert out on the grass one night which was nice. I would stay there again, for sure.

GOOD LOCATION, CLEAN ROOMSPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels
Hotels exterior needs maintenance, although the room was very clean and nice. It is in a good location and within walking distance to the downtown area of Greenport.

GreenportPosted Jun 29, 2015 on Hotels
Nice and clean room, but you could easily listen in on all activity in the nearby rooms. No breakfast option. The hotel misses on maintainance with bad paint, dirty pool etc. But it is beautifully located and Greenport is very nice. We will return to Greenport but not to this hotel.

Overpriced run down InnPosted Jun 26, 2015 on Hotels
Overpriced and terribly run down. Pool was filthy, hallways very smelly and damp. They obviously don't even bother doing any effort into making it look nicer and update a little, they can get high rates because of the location, too bad really... You are better off camping down the road, same level, pretty bad too but at least it's much cheaper and it is in the same location. Shame on you Townsend Manor Inn.

Very pleasant. Quiet. Close enough to shops in Greenport to walk.

Clean but worn outPosted Jun 25, 2015 on Hotels
The bathroom was updated but the rest of the room was definitely more run down. The bed was very uncomfortable (hard and thin mattress and a flat pillow) was clean but it is definitely run down, not what I expected for the price.

very overpriced and depressingPosted Aug 13, 2012
For the price you would expect a nice hotel, don't. While the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean...the rest of the place is in complete disrepair. The wallpaper is dingy, the room had an office ceiling complete with flourecent light, the tv is from the early 90s and there was a used comb on the floor. The carpet was stained and dingy as well. I enjoyed the wineries a lot, but feel like I really overpaid for my lodgings. I enjoy a quaint bed and breakfast, but this place's pealing paint and musty smell just was sad and depressing.

Very nice place to stayPosted Jul 22, 2012
Lovely old hotel, very nice setting, room comfortable, location fairly handy to downtown (easy six block walk). The only downside was that the bathtub drained very slowly. Drew it to the attention of management on checkout. They took note of it and I got the impression they will fix it.

Great location for lighthouse huntingPosted Jul 2, 2012
Pros: The gingerbread on the houses, the porches, and the relaxing atmosphere makes me want to come back for a longer stay.
Location: we went to several lighthouses and this was very convenient.
We loved the location. It was near restaurants and the ferry but far enogh away that we awoke to dirds chirping. The room was spacious and the buildings are darling. Breakfast was wonderful and you could linger or be up and out the door if needed. It was quaint and quiet.
