This ole girl needs a facelift!

Pros: The location
Cons: Almost everything! The bathrooms, The carpeting. The bedding. The decor. The place is a dump though the facade is nice.
Location: Great location if you want to be downtown. Everything is in walking distance, restaurants, clubs etc.
The Biltmore is in desperate need of an update. The bathrooms are horribly small with extremely dated fixtures. The bedding is old and drab. The carpeting in our room was dingy and very stained. The accessories thoughout the hotel and in the rooms (pictures, lamps etc.) looked as though they had been collected from an assortment of low end thrift stores, not charming just cheap, old and tacky. Not at all what I expected. Especially considering that the cost of the room is no bargain. Granted the location is great if you want to be downtown but apart from that i would not return. They serve complimentary wine in the evening, nice touch but the wine is a local variety that is almost unpalatable. Pretty much everything about this hotel was a disappointment. It was so bad that I didn't even shower the morning we left I just wanted out of there. I realize It would take a huge investment to bring the Biltmore up to standard but until they do I will not return.

We are sad to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Our bathrooms were installed in 1924 originally, a time when a bathroom was a place of function. Not to take away from he space provided in the bedroom. You are correct there are things that need updating, but our historic building has been under renovations since 2010. Privately owned and operated since 2007. We are not new, but always strive to provide the best service possible to make up for whatever short coming our 114 year old building my have. Thank you for your candor and feedback. Safe travels, and again we apologize that we were not up to your standards. Please keep an eye on us as we move forward in the next stages of our renovations, we would enjoy the chance to change your mind.

In Town for NB Track Nationals

Great hotel. Close to Greensboro downtown nightlife (...which was pretty fun, by the way...!). Will be staying here next time in town!

Staff was very nice. Downtown location was excellent, the bed and floor were quite squeaky and noisy making it hard to sleep

Replace mattress!

Mattress was extremely uncomfortable, so much so that we considered checking out at 3a to drive home. Employees at desk were very apologetic & comped the room.

For the price this is the place to stay

For the most part the hotel offered a clean and comfortable place to stay. It's in the heart of Greensboro's downtown and convenient to food and entertainment. For a hotel that has some history the rooms and baths could use a bit of upgrading.

Deplorable bathroom

This could be such an adorable place , but the condition of our bathroom (room 334) was deplorable. Really. We travel extensively and I haven't encountered a bathroom in this condition in 30 years. Sink and vanity....sink was cracked from one side to the other, rust surrounding the fixtures, just old and dirty. The drain was a wide open gaping hole, no stopper inside. The vanity was in deplorable condition. Caulking all around sink and bathtub was peeling and lifting. In bathtub the shower curtain had large area of mold growing, the fixtures were cracked and of the lowest quality (old plastic knobs). There is no temp control in the shower so it was constantly fluctuating from scalding to freezing. There was pink "slime" growing in the corners. Although the toilet seems relatively new it had no pressure. Good luck getting a piece of toilet paper to flush let alone anything else???!!! The walls and ceiling were bubbled/ peeling. There is no repairing this bathroom...a total renovation is necessary. A room with a bathroom in this condition should not be rented to guests. We arrived at midnight and had no other choice but to stay. Upon checkout we told the front desk about the bathroom issues. The woman seemed mildly surprised (HOW COULD THIS BE??) and said that many rooms are in line for renovation but they are so busy they can't renovate them. She did not offer any compensation or apology for our dissatisfaction. What a shame.

A small step back in time

Wonderful experience. We were welcomed as if we were coming home, the staff was wonderful throughout our visit. Looking forward to returning. Love the elevator.
