Stunning Location

Pros: So much to do or not to do
Cons: lobby , main building needs remodel
Location: fish , boat , swim
It's the location and facilities onsite that set this resort apart . From canoes and kayaks to basketball courts and fishing this place is a way from parents and kids to get what they want ! Really enjoyed a long peaceful kayak every morning and late night swimming in the pool that had a perfect temperature . It was great losing track of time sitting in a chair watching kids swim & when we got hungry we just wondered up to the lake side bare & restaurant for lunch . Couple of points of interest , the Ritz it would appear gets their interior design from some dark castles in Scotland or the like , instead of being " lake cottage " bright and airy the lobby and main building is dark wooded and stuffy . Similar to the Ritz in Cancun or the Hotel Coronado is San Diego you feel like you should be wearing a sport coat instead of flip flops ! The pub where the pool table sits in totally dated and smelly ..... time for a total overhaul that matches the outstanding views ! In saying that the grounds and property are the reason for staying there & they are just first class in every way.

Pricey Place and Not worth it

Pros: Not much. Rooms need updating.
Cons: The attitude of guest services and perhaps hire older mature people throughout the property.
Drove 12 hours to escape IRMA here in Florida. Staff was not that understanding or appreciative of that fact and I think they are just too young not seasoned as how to handle guests that are enduring a stressful experience. The beds were not feather beds as advertised and we were exhausted for the 3 days when we should have been able to relax from our stressful experience. The room was not cleaned on our last day because the maid announced they were about to get the storm and they were leaving early. We did have a very nice housekeeper the first day named Amanda but she is the only thing great about the hotel and the only one to treat us with any kindness or understanding of our predicament. The last day we were there approximately 2pm they lost power and I believe our room rate of $400 should be reduced significantly for this. We had no a/c obviously could not use our laptop, no lights in a very dark room and no tv. We checked out the following am when they could NOT GET GA Power to restore the electricity. Disappointing to say the least at a poorly managed Ritz Carlton. Sell this one Ritz it's not doing your reputation any favors.

Perfect family holiday weekend!

The Ritz rolls out the red carpet on holiday weekends for families. It is nonstop fun on the water with unlimited activities for children but upscale enough for the parents to relax and enjoy. The club level is worth every penny as the staff is attentive to you every need. The food was great, the views are amazing. What a pleasure!

Fantastic hotel in a stunning location !

We stayed 3 nights over 4th July holidays and had an amazing time. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and never failed to ask if there was more they could do -everyone was so friendly from the moment we arrived . Location is stunning and lots to do . Our only gripe was finding our room not made up at 3.30pm after being out all day but the hotel was busy and I suppose someone has to be last !

Would not go back....

The hotel pool is very nice and the lake is great for kayaking and yolo boarding. The spa is nice but expensive. The most disappointing part was the food was really poor quality... For the price you pay at over 500$ a nite you would expect spectacular quality food. The food is VERY expensive... 35$ for a pork chop... I have no problem paying money for great quality. The service was also, just "okay" in the restaurants. The rest of the hotel had a great and friendly service. The valet and spa personnel were great as were the front desk staff.
