You will not get your room at check-in time.

Upon arrival just after 3:00 PM, I went to check-in. The lady at the front desk pointed to the lobby and said "all the rooms are dirty because we were full last night and all of these people are waiting." This was at hello, so not very welcoming. I explained to her that we just drove 5 hours and my husband was ill and needed to lay down, that as soon as our room was ready to please let us know. She took my number and said she would call us as soon as our room was ready (even called the cleaning person with a hand radio). We went to a restaurant across the street to wait, and hour and a half went by and no phone call. We went back to the hotel, lobby empty. I explained to the desk that no one called us, and no apology was offered (the lady that had promised to call me wouldn't look toward me). The room had dead lady bugs everywhere, mostly on the chaise lounge in the room. Cleaning service comes early at 9:00, so be prepared (even with the sign on the door). Another couple on the elevator said that they waited for a cab for 30 minutes and realized that the front desk never called them a cab as requested(they were headed to a concert). The manager was nice enough to comp our breakfast, which I appreciated very much. Lesson learned to not trust someone to do what they say they will in the hotel business. I will not stay at another Crowne Plaza although it may have just been this location. Other properties owed by IHG have been wonderful.
