We were evacuating because of Hurricane Matthew. I tried to call hotel directly but instead Hotels.com. Explained that I had to have two rooms side by side that are wheelchair accessible. Operator understood special needs so she put me on hold to call Hotel directly to verify availability of rooms matching our needs. She assured me that the Quality Inn could meet our needs. When we arrived they did not have two rooms side by side. Bathrooms were not wheelchair accessible. There were huge curbs from the parking lot to the sidewalk to the rooms that were near impossible to get the wheelchairs and walker up. It was NOT in anyway, wheelchair accessible. They refused to give us any type of discount for having said they could accommodate our needs when they could not. I understand that these were extreme circumstances with the evacuation from the storm and the lack of availability of rooms; but they should not have lied to us! And I can not believe that they are not in violation of some federal laws by not having a ramp from the parking lot to the sidewalk to provide access to the rooms. Our housekeeper was really wonderful and most accommodating of our special needs, but the hotel was NOT!
