I made this reservation over a month in advanced. I then had something come up and needed to change the date. I called Expedia and had the date changed a few weeks prior to arriving. They had already charged me the fee, and the new date was a little more. No big deal. They said that the money I already paid would go towards the new room. I called The Sleep Inn just to make sure I would have no issues and spoke to Nick (Which no longer works there when I arrived) and he said I was good to go. I printed out all of my emails and even my credit card statement showing the charge. When I arrived, the female general manager said there was no payment made. I showed her my statement that shows that Sleep Inn charged me the money. She said Expedia did that and they would have to refund it or fix it. I have charges from Expedia before and they show up as Expedia, not the name of the hotel with their city and state. So I called Expedia from my cell phone in the lobby. They ended up calling the hotel. This went back and forth for an hour. Finally Expedia gave me a gift certificate to go towards the room since Sleep Inn was swearing that they did not charge me. The general manager went outside 3 times to smoke within this hour that I was going through this. I have already filed a claim with my credit card company to get my refund back. They could have just comped me a room after seeing all the trouble I was having for an hour on the phone. They had plenty (weekday)
Cons: AC broken in 1 room, the other room they put me in was dirty, smelled like cigar smoke and incense, burn holes in the comforter, stained sheets.
