A bit dated in the rooms, but otherwise a nice hotel off the beaten track

Great place to recover from jet lag.Posted Oct 9, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed for two days after flying into Rome. Very sleepy little village (we arrived just after summer season) which was perfect for us. A couple days of sun and relaxing. Plenty of restaurants nearby and if possible I would suggest having a car. It makes getting around much easier. Hotel was very nice. Not super modern but appropriate for the price. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive as well as ready to help. Wifi was reliable and the bathrooms were great. If you're looking for and "American" hotel this is not it, but it is very common for an Italian hotel and we would stay again because of the location/staff/price combination.

Ok....for a few nights, few locals can converse in English . Food of average quality, wifi system very annoying every few hours require resigning with a difficult password.

Cracking spot, really on the seaPosted Jun 9, 2013 on Hotels
Great spot, easy parking, sea view room couldn't fault. Breakfast not the most exciting bit that's continental. One member of staff was exceptional he had great English and couldn't do enough to help. One member of female staff who could have been the manager though was in fact rude and that's not just a language barrier.

The service is friendly and efficient, and the hotel has a private beach and very nice ocean views. However, the bathrooms are old and not well maintained.
Would go againPosted Jul 2, 2012 on Hotels
La Caletta was a wonderful little hotel on the far end of the harbor with a great swimming and umbrella area. It has the advantage of being right on the wate, past the busy street with restaurants and shops. Ignore GPS and mapquest--you will never find it that way if you are driving. just drive into Argentario and follow the streets along the harbor edge all the way to the far end, passing the Coast Guard station. It is just past there. The maid service was the best I have seen in years--a spotless room, they give you beach towels but you must ask, the gentleman at the desk speaks several languages and is very very helpful and pleasant. The AC works well, not always the case in European hotels, the bed comfortable and not as hard as some in Europe. The decor is shabby chic, thinking 1950s Daytona Beach Florida, but spotless. The breakfast is a good spread, with the ability to get scrambled or fried eggs on request. Would recommend this as a lovely little place to spend a couple of nights.

Extremely poor value for moneyPosted Jan 2, 2016 on Hotels
Friendly staff, great location, beautiful view but the rooms are very very rundown and do not offer value for money. We paid 180 euros for a room on a cold December night, for less than half that price we stayed both in Rome and in Belzena for much better rooms.
