A do it yourself holiday.

Posted Apr 8, 2017
Pros: Beds comfortable, airconditioning quiet. Modern throughout.
Cons: More English speakers around.
Location: Busy area, malls & shops, plenty of food around.
Set in the old part of Suzhou. Walkable to shopping & old canals areas. Difficult to get taxis with our partial Chinese. Watch out for touts at airport. The tout took off after collecting from 4 of us to do a short canal ride. He was supposed to take us to 4 places for the price of the ride on the canal. Otherwise Michell was a first class English speaking guide connected to the hotel. We went to Tongli with her and it cost to take 4 of us, In total 440Y + Y100 guide fee & we were returned to our hotel. A lot better than the concierge's first offer. The Scholars Garden is a must see. Crowds of people. Do not get into the que for the Museum but walk halfway through the contolled area & look for a ticket office through the crowded area. Y99 then take ticket another 200m to the entrance of the garden. At Tong Li there were huge crowds. Took a canal ride and saw 4 gardens.

Great value in Suzhou

Posted Aug 15, 2016 on Hotels
Great stay in Suzhou, this was my second time staying here, best middle of the road place in Suzhou. The breakfast was not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. Was upgraded upon checkin and room was huge, and comfortable. Can't really beat the value for the price!

Staff and buffet breakfast were good

Posted Jun 30, 2016
Pros: Breakfast and the staff were good
Cons: Rooms could use a refreshing
Location: Hotel is about a 7 minute ride from Suzhou Railway Station.
The room was fairly big and comfortable. But the carpet in the room had seen much better days. And the room could use a refreshing. The buffet breakfast was good, lots of choices. The front-desk staff spoke fairly good English and earned an A for effort and helpfulness. The health club was fine except 1 weight machine wasn't working. Remember, you need to turn-on some cardio machines in the gym. Hotel is near Suzhou railway station.

Nice hotel to live in

Posted Jun 3, 2016 on Hotels
It was a very nice stay. The room condition is so good with big bed, clean washroom and useful furniture. The room space is big enough. The suitcases can just put near the bed with suitable space. It's really convenient. The hotel location is very good after I've gone to the tourists spots. It only takes around 15 mins by bus. The bus stop is just outside the hotel. The name is called AiHeQiao. Also, there are food streets, big shopping malls and different restaurants near the hotel. You don't need to worry about your meals there. In short, it is a very good hotel with good services and ideal location. It's recommendable.
