Hotel cerca del centro

Posted Aug 28, 2015

Central located, but unpersonal and too noisy!

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Lots of space, but not very cosy. And unfortunately too loud!
Cons: Service in general, poor breakfast.
Hotel Alcazar is located quite in the center of Guadalajara, but unfortunately on a horribly busy and noisy crossroad. If you get a room to the street you barely have a chance to open a window or sleep without earplugs. Every night one could hear the noise of a nearby located disco bar. Our room and the bathroom were big and comfortable, but the airconditioning smelled of mould and humidity. The terrace of the hotel was empty of any decoration or plants and quite uninviting. The "included" breakfast consisted of two toast slices with jam, orange juice and coffee/chocolate, all extras had to be paid for. As the drain pipe of the toilet in our room was blocked, we asked for help at the reception. By the end of the day we found out that nothing had been done! And, as our toilet was flooded and no staff was available (because of the late hour), we had to clean it all by ourselves! No hair fan as well. TV allright. In short, you can stay there for a couple of nights, but it is definitely not nearly what you expect from a four-star hotel. Guadalajara offers some interesting places to visit. The eastern part Tlaquepaque is worth visiting as well. Also the trip to the two hours-away located village Tequila was wonderful. Mexican people are just great!

Posted Jun 18, 2015
