Not 4 star!
Posted Sep 12, 2016
While I'm sure 10-15 years ago when the hotel was renovated it was 3-4 star, it's certainly not now, it's in need if major repairs. I would say it should be a 2 star now. Location isn't good if you want to walk anywhere... It's really dark outside the hotel so kinda scary even if you want to walk 50 meters.
Closest shops are about 300 meters away, but the actual center is 15 minutes by bus. The Expedia listing lists this as in the city center, IT IS NOT! That is really really misleading. I wanted to stay in the center so was disappointed I couldn't just walk around at night, I ended up eating at the same place every night for 4 nights, on the 1st floor of the hotel. While the food was pretty good, it would have been nice to have been able to eat somewhere else. The shopping buses that go around stop at 9pm which makes it difficult if you want to be in the center.
If you want to stay in the center, many of the other hotels are also not well located (HILTON, Sheraton) so for the price this hotel may be a better option as HILTON and sheratons prices are double.
This was my 2nd time to Guam, and while I'll visit again, the 2 things I'll be sure to do next.
1. Choose a hotel in the center.
2. Rent a car. The red bus that goes around wastes so much time. At least 2-3 hours a day were lost on the bus.
If next time I have a car, I may consider this hotel again, but the price would need to be lower.
