Mixed feelings

Some hotel staff are nice other are rude and give you attitude

Beautiful quiet hotel.

I stayed at resort during Christmas week(2016). My room was nice and clean with a beautiful ocean view. The food was reasonable. Italian place was great. Resort has an acres to small public beach. Overal I enjoyed it.

Nice hotel in the bay

This hotel has a great view of the Papagayo bay. The welcome staff needs to be more welcoming and share more info regarding what they have on site. We didn't even know they had a tour office onsite- more to come regarding this service. The food at the buffet was fantastic as were all of the restaurant staff!! The Oriental restaurant- AWESOME! The drinks were great as was the bar staff. The beach - warm and a great spot to snorkel! As for the tour office- they are only in it for the $- go figure. We took 2 tours thru them and nothing that was promised to us was delivered. Very disappointed with them and we would suggest independent guides if you want to enjoy the country.

Overall very nice

Pros: We loved the specialty restaurants, and our view from our room was awesome. The staff was very nice.
Cons: Floors in the rooms should get cleaned. Our feet were black just from walking on the floor in the rooms. Should also give guests better pillows
Location: The location was great. We went on excursions almost everyday, and they pick you up right at the hotel. Zip Lining, Safari Tour, Hot Springs, Etc.
The hotel was for the most part very nice. We went on our honeymoon and before we left I had read reviews for the hotel prior to going so we kind of expected some stuff. Our room was in building 16, which was pretty far from everything. They did have shuttles that came and picked you up and brought you wherever you wanted in the resort whenever you wanted, but wish everything was a little more closer. The pillows in our room were HORRIBLE, and to get a better pillow you had to pay $20. The food at the buffet each night was edible, but nothing great. I guess that's why they give you a maximum of 2 reservations at the specialty restaurants they have, because otherwise everyone would be there every night. The food at the specialty restaurants were amazing. We knew this was an adults only resort, which sounded great, but there was a lot of older couples there. The beach was beautiful, but we thought there would be a bar on the beach, but it was a little bit of a walk to get to the "beach bar" because it wasn't directly on the beach. They had listed a "romantic dinner" you could have set up that says its in a secluded area on the resort, and we wanted to do that for our last night there, but it actually ended up just being a table at one of the special restaurants with rose petals on the table. Nothing secluded about it. The staff was very nice.

Overall beautiful hotel

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink which was definitely welcome after a long flight. The reception area was beautiful, completely open to the elements. We arrived about an hour/hour an a half after actual check-in time and you could see the sun about to set which was a beautiful view from the lobby. Booking through Expedia, it was actually a quick check-in process - I would say less than 15 min. This hotel is massive but luckily they have a shuttle that runs 24/7 throughout the property - very convenient! We did have a couple issues with room mainly the 1st and 2nd night - we had some bug issues. The friend I was with was very agitated about the whole situation but it was simply something we were not used to... calls and one visit to the front desk were made, my friend wanted to switch rooms which they could not accommodate stating they were completely booked. So prior to booking, please make sure you are okay with bugs and I mean smalls bugs (nothing crazy) because this hotel is a very nature-friendly environment where bugs and other animals roam free so if you're sensitive to that, I recommend staying elsewhere. Food is decent, no real complaints - I see prior reviews complaining about variety, well it is buffet style so I think variety was definitely provided but I could understand where people were expecting a little more. I think the hotel catered a lot to Americans which I am as well but I expected some more authentic Latin-based cuisine.

Great Resort for a Great Vacation in Guanacaste

Pros: Great variety at the buffet. The transportation will take you around in a timely manner. Daily activities will keep you entertained. Love game room.
Cons: A Karaoke at the bar could help.
Location: Perfect location 20 mins from the airport, 10 mins to Playa Hermosa or Playa del Coco. Very convenient to move around the city and attractions.
This Hotel has everything you need for a forgettable vacation. From the staff, reception, to transportation, food service and housekeeping are nice, friendly and make you feel special VIP.

Disappointed

Long walk from room to everything. Beach bars close at 3:00. Dreaded taking a shower due to horrible smelling and pungent water. Not worth the money.

Regarding the water situation, we know this is a big problem affecting all the area in Playa Panama and Playa Hermosa not only our Hotel and off course understand your frustration on not having drinking water, we are working hard to deliver best service as possible Kitchen and bar areas have a system to keep purified water (Osmosis), and we use this water for cooking and beverages, also we do have dispensers in specific areas for bottle refill.
