The property itself was wonderful. The meal at Moxi was truly bad. A tasteless yet expensive menu de degustacion, specially worse was the main dish of that menu on Feb 23.

New year get away.
We loved everything about Hotel Matilda. The location was perfect to everything downtown. Staff was very very friendly and considerate. They offered to help in every aspect, whether it was to carry shopping bags to the room, turnover the room at whatever time that worked for us. Hotel was exceptionally clean and spa services were amazing.

Overall great place People were outstanding, in all areas, especially concierge desks, restaurant waiters, bar keepers. Location excellent. Aldamo cafe also excellent. A small quirky thing vs other Mexican hotels was lack of free drinking water in rooms.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. The cathedral and main plaza were within walking distance as well as other small restaurants. It was just a beautiful experience and will definitely stay there again on my next trip.

Amazing Service… but
The trip was amazing overall. The rooms need some work! Blackout shades are not total blackout. Shower was terrible/ products are located under shower spray. Shower head is so high, water pressure is poor. The continental breakfast was weak- 6-8 small thin slices of fruit, yogurt, a spoonful of toasted oats, and white bread toasted… no gluten free or whole wheat option. The lunch/dinner menu, quite limited.

Very friendly staff!!! Comfortable and great location. Water pressure wasn’t great and had to shower in a bathtub combo. Would definitely stay there again. Just in a different room.

Newer property. Excellent location. Staff was top-notch. Had one meal and that was outstanding. I asked for an iron and instead they ironed my clothes for free (including a suit). Only gripe I had is the slow shower drain which is likely due to the old town drainage system. Really a five-star experience. Be sure to tip well.

Everyone was friendly, service was good however, we were given a room, although it was big, had small windows and whited out so rather dark in the room and bathroom. The front door facing towards the open courtyard of restaurant and bar let all the music and noise in. Shower handle fell off during our stay. Hard to figure out lights and we were charged for water even though it was left on a tray with ice every night. Coffee was terrible. Breakfast was nothing great. No upgrade or offer of a quiet room.

Best Hotel in SMA
The trip was absolutely amazing! The staff at the hotel were incredible and went above and beyond in their friendliness and service. I made the mistake to overbook events during my stay and had to rush to the airport without eating, and they were kind enough to pack me a lunch so i could eat something. It was so so kind. Also, i forgot about the covid testing requirements and they had a service come to the hotel lobby to do a full test with results within an hour. How amazing is that? Also, the spa is incredible, the food is wonderful, the room was beautiful and the linens were absolutely the best i've had in any hotel. Seriously cannot rave enough about this hotel.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home at Hotel Matilda. Service was friendly and attentive (they used our names throughout our stay and special recognition to Adrian for being so kind) and hotel itself was a beautiful oasis within Centro. Although there were other guests, at times it felt like we had the property to ourselves. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and the bonus was the patio that overlooked town. Monkey Bar and Moxi restaurant were both wonderful . We will definitely stay at Matilda on our return trip to SMA.

Hotel Matilda is a beautiful, chic, modern property with a great location and comfortable rooms. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful at every turn, and we enjoyed using their fitness center, which had all the basics we needed, as well as the spa, which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. It's a beautiful place.

An amazing property nestled in historic San Miguel de Allende Center! Walk everywhere! Minutes from all historic churches and amazing and authentic Mexican restaurants. Best romantic getaway.

This is a very nice hotel. They make you feel at home. Omar at front desk was superb. The only thing that surprised me is no surprise from the hotel for our 30th anniversary even though they knew about it, but dont make that stop you from coming to Matilda. We felt so good during the whole stay that we didnt care. I just mention it because normally hotels have some detail to guests on their anniversary

I loved the central courtyyard with bar, pool restaurant - very cozy - great for family gathering spontaneously. The staff was amazing from the front desk, to chefs, to concierges, to bellman, to housekeeping. We were a group of 8 rooms and about 30 persons for my immediate family and we were well taken care of!
