We had a short stay just one night

Posted Nov 30, 2017
Great location, close to everything and right on the main plaza. It was a great idea to have balconies to oversee the plaza but at night was difficult to sleep due to the street noise. Wonderful hotel and super friendly staff. Food at the restaurant downstairs was Awesome too

Unforgettable hotel and staff

Posted Nov 29, 2017
I am beyond glad that I decided to stay at Hotel Posada Santa Fe. Our flight arrived at 7am and I knew check in was not until 3pm, however we were so tired that I decided to ask the front desk of our room was available and if I could check in even if I had to pay extra. The gentleman at the front desk let us check in as soon as the room was cleaned at not extra charge. We were so relieved that we could get into our room early and rest. Our room was a bit of a climb to get to. We were on the roof but boy was it worth the climb up those stairs! Our room was gorgeous! Two queen beds and a separate room with a king bed. Two flat screen TVs and a roomy bathroom. But the best part was the outdoor patio with such an amazing view of the city! We stayed three nights and enjoyed it very much. On the day of our check out, again the friendly staff asked us when our flight was leaving and if we needed a taxi. We told them our flight was not until 10pm. The were gracious and offered to keep our bags until we were ready to leave for the airport. That was a huge relief for us since we still wanted to sightsee. We came back and they contacted a taxi who came directly to the hotel to pick us up. (Big plus is you are familiar with the city, not many drivable streets). The location is also perfect. Everything is within walking distance. I rarely write reviews but I just had to with this hotel and their staff.

Great Hotel right in the historic center!

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Hotel is just steps from el Teatro Juarez, and other landmarks are just minutes away. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are friendly. The view from our balcony included the statue of El Pipila!

Historic hotel - has limited comforts

Posted Nov 20, 2017
Pros: Location by far was the best thing about the hotel. Right in the center of town next to the cathedral and theater.
Cons: Hotel should not book rooms that cannot be guaranteed to be quiet and dark during the night.
Location: Cafe's and dining opportunities are abundant. Starbucks across the way through the park. Shopping and historical sights are within a few steps. Great!
Hotel location can't be beat. However, with that said, be aware that certain rooms will be noisy and lit during the night due to fixed windows without shades. Our room was above ballroom and at least two events went on each night during our stay. We could hardly sleep. Also note the rooms do not have heating and only a fan for cooling. I would recommend the hotel if a room could be found that was quiet/dark at night, and if the weather was permitting for not needing heat nor cooling.

Great Location and helpful, friendly staff

Posted Nov 9, 2017
Pros: We were impressed by the eagerness of the staff to help with whatever we needed. Also, the towels are especially soft and luxurious.
Cons: Some updating would be useful but not so much as to destroy the charm of the tiles and beams.
Location: Posada Santa Fe is located on the perimeter of the Union Garden, footsteps away from the Teatro de Juarez, museums, the funicular and many fine shops.
We were at the Posada Santa Fe during a festival. It was within walking distance of activities: Parades, music, unusual street art, performers, kiosks selling crafts, sugar spun and chocolate skulls, etc. Hotel employees were friendly, kind and helpful. They changed our large bills for small, answered our questions, made recommendations and arranged for middle of the night airport transportation Posada Santa Fe dates from the 1880s and features tile, plaster and Wooden ceiling beams. Our room was spacious with two double beds, a sitting area and a patio with sliding door. We were in the interior so our room was quiet. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. I recommend the Posada Santa Fe for persons seeking a comfortable, centrally located, reasonably priced hotel in Guanajuato.
