Beds on top level could use some modifications , like a TV and moving ceiling fan more towards /over beds.

Beautiful Hotel close to everything!

Posted May 13, 2016
Pros: The room was big, comfortable, clean, very good breakfast included in our rate and helpful staff!
Cons: No cons here, just a great hotel.
Location: Close to restaurants, the main plazas, dulcerias and historic sites.
We stayed at La Casona for 4 nights with our toddler boy, it is such a beautiful historic hotel. We know Guanajuato has many historic hotels but we were concerned that they were old with old furniture and kind of dirty places NOT the case in here!. Our room had a big king size bed, large bathroom with hot water (it looks like not having hot water is common in the city) and it was very comfortable, it didn't have an iron which I thought it was weird but I called the front desk and they sent me one so not a big deal. Our rate included breakfast and it was very good. The hotel is located within a short walk to many historic sites we walked to the Alhondiga, Museo de Diego Rivera, Teatro Juarez, Callejon del Beso, Mercado Hidalgo, to our favorite restaurant Casa Valadez etc. so the location was just perfect. The person at the front desk helped us to arrange a tour by the city and he put us in contact with a cab driver that took us to San Miguel de Allende by ourselves (not in a tour) traveling with a toddler we wanted to go to San Miguel just the 3 of us. Overall it was such a great experience for our first time visiting Guanajuato!

Great Place to Stay in Guanajuato

We were in town for a service project with Rotary, and this hotel provided the rest and comfort that we needed after working all day in communities on the outskirts of Guanajuato. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were comfortable and very clean.

Just came back from Guanajuato. We stayed at La Casona de Don Lucas and we loved it. Room was spacious, clean, and the location is Excellent walking distance to Teatro Juarez, El Callejon Del beso (kissing alley) the only turn down is the wifi is extremely slow. Pretty much no connection in rooms. Only in lobby. Staff is friendly. Definitely recommend it.
