Was given a smoking room even though I reserved non-smoking. It was hard to breathe in there. The decor is dated and the area was not convenient to downtown shopping districts.

Reception team is really unprofessional. Difficult to communicate as understand very little to no English. Charged even for breakfast and when we showed booking they reversed. Never going back again this hotel.

Please ask me in English Business Centre staff including Allan were fantastic and so helpful as we’re stuck in Guangzhou due to typhoon of sept 16, 17th. We got confirmed train tickets but trains cancelled last minute . So we ended checking IN 3 days and checking OUT of your hotel 3 times. Then Allan got us BUS tickets for 18th 6.30am to HK. We are so grateful and moved by their actions as we’re in our 70s.

Hotel with good facilities and location.
Marriott seldom disappoints. The furnishings, cleanliness and facilities of this hotel are all up to scratch. Most of the staff are also polite and approachable. A few staff, however, sadly the senior ones manning the counter for breakfast registration can be rather brusque. But really, this should not distract from the mainly polite and helpful people working in this hotel. For example, there are courteous staff who always are around to ensure that the rooms are well-kept. Lastly, the hotel is just adjacent to a subway station, which makes this hotel a good base for exploring Guangzhou. A few restaurants within five minutes' walk offer good and very reasonably-priced food.

Lovely stay
Love it. Room is clean; so is the bath tub. Very near the Metro station, very convenient. Easy to take Metro train from and to the Airport. There’s a very big and beautiful garden nearby too. Excellent for morning walk.
